I have brought over thirty patrons to the Oklahoma City Omni and have been a paying customer since their opening. However, that being said, I have been banned permanently due to my girlfriend working their. I have never caused a scene, acted inappropriately , pulled her from her duties, or represented the Omni in bad light. I highly feel this is due to me being Hispanic and I feel extremely discriminated against. The Omni Hotel represents an upper class Anglo crowd and I feel I do not meet their expectations, I plan on reaching out on a higher level to address these issues.
I had the unfortunate experience of doing a work event at this location and I have never been so disgusted by a venue. The lead event staff was disorganized and chaotic causing their team members to feel frustrated and grouchy and my team members to feel frustrated and grouchy. One of the leads, Martin, was incredibly rude to me when I asked him numerous times about why things were not proceeding smoothly. He told me I was “complaining too much” and to “calm down”. No one should ever be spoken to in this manner. I was yelled at by a kitchen staff member and a bar lead, which shows that whoever is leading these events is not doing so in a manner that creates a positive work environment. I would also like to know why half the staff had masks and half didn’t. I even asked some of the staff members and found several unvaccinated walking around without them and several that were vaccinated being forced to wear them which supports the fact that this venue is under extremely poor, disorganized and verbally toxic management. I will never be using this venue for an event again and will alerting my colleagues to also not consider any Omni Hotels for their events.
