If you need to buy used children clothing, this is a so so placed to go. if you need To sell clothing, do not go there. They are a major rip-off they give you less than a quarter percent of what your item is truly worth. And when you ask for your clothing back. It's an other complete chaotic mess. TOOK IN OVER $200 of items with tags still on only to give me $50 then refused to give back clothing. Never gone back
I was just in there this morning, terrible customer service!! I grabbed some sandals for my toddler that was also with me. She got a hold of them and took off the sticky note number that it had not even a actual tag when I go to pay the lady that charged us was really rude about the sandals not having the tag, she said that she would just make up a price to charge me because my daughter had taken off the number. There was a bin full of sandals next to us not sure why she didn’t just take a look! I hope she gets better with her customer service! Makes me not want to go back.
When your kids grow out of their clothes and toys, you've got three options: donate them, throw them away, or...sell them! Once Upon a Child pays you for your kids' old stuff, then re-sells them for pennies on the dollar. This is a win-win store for parents: get paid for your kids' old things, and buy "new" things for them at a fraction of the cost of getting them brand new. My wife and I love this place. Highly recommended!
I’ve been to several locations of this store across the United States. I am so impressed with how nice the staff are at the Salem location. The store is so clean, well organized and by far the nicest of any location I’ve been too! Kudos to the owner of this location as they are a franchise.
While the sheer amount of clothing and other baby/children's items was a little overwhelming, I was absolutely over the moon to find a barely used $400 Nuna playard for $100 here!!! I thought that their prices for other items were fair - and definitely better than buying new. The staff was kind, the employee that rang me up even carried the playard out to my car for me. I will definitely be coming back!
The owners are great, or managers not certain..staff are always friendly. They may not give you what you paid for obviously or take your nice things because it's all about what's needed. They have soo much newborn to 2T and as the age gets older the inventory is less so they may take more of that size clothing thank the latter. I think some of their bigger items are overpriced, but their clothing is awesome. Decent to great quality clothing and shoes, great selection, service is awesome always, and you can earn a discount - best!!!
This is an updated review: first off I have been in a million more times since the very first review I wrote, and I would like to give kudos to the crew here at Once Upon A Child they are lovely and the women are nice and always helpful to me. I've never seen them being outright rude or discriminating to anyone. Of course there are some people that go in with an attitude and they say that they got an attitude towards them first which is not the case most often. I've been present for a few of these situations. Remember they ate people to and you may not think they answered or talked to you in the way you "wanted" but maybe it's because your looking for a fight. Just saying people need to be nice and treat the way you want to be treated. I give them 5 out of 5.
They need to attach their price tags differently. Almost every single article of clothing I have gotten here has a small hole from the plastic they punch through the clothes to attach the tag. Over time the hole gets slowly bigger and bigger. It's really sad because it goes against the whole principle of buying second hand. These articles of clothing that could have lasted many years to clothe many kids will now only last a year or 2 at most until there's a sizeable hole that they created. For example, I was super excited to have found a beautiful merino wool hat and scarf set in like new condition at a great price here but upon closer examination, their price tags put 2 holes in them that will quickly unravel. That almost brought tears to my eyes! The one hole was especially large because there were 3 plastic thingys shoved into the hole! Not sure why 3 was necessary, but even 1 of them damages the clothing. Please please please find a new way that won't damage the clothes.
One of the best Once Upon A Child's I have been to. Well stocked, well priced, and clean. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! I will definitely be returning often to find new treasures.
So awesome!!! I was so happy with the wide selection of clothes they have to offer! The clothes are even color coded down the isles. I left with so much for my baby girl!! I’m a happy momma! I’ll for sure be back!
