Great beginner/family friendly campground. The bathrooms were clean, water was easy to access, and the showers were nice and hot! I'd guess that when the campground is crowded it might be loud. But this is still a great place to have a little escape camping out by the lake.
Location for our camp site was beautiful. We were spot 16 and other then hearing the raceway and boat launch we loved it. This time of year bring Is citronello candles. Beach wasn't open. Camp site ran $25 a night. The confirmation email did not say anything about secure bathrooms or picking up my instruction in an envelope at their camping shed by the bathrooms. BUT you will want to do that if nobody is on duty because it has carpass, map, and keycode for bathrooms. We never did locate showers. We believe they were through a locked door in the bathrooms but could not get ahold of anybody to help locate them. When park is not open for peak nobody is able to be located and using the park phone system leads you to voice mails. We tol walk up path to park office. It's pretty walk, short and paved. On way back we were greeted by an ice cream truck. We did splurge. My kids have never had that experience. The park is like 3 miles from Dunkin, Gas Stations etc... we were able to get would in town for our for. It ran about $6 bundle. All in all not bad little getaway.
great little camp ground with tent and hammock sites right on the water front. fish or pull a kayak right in from there! and have amazing lake views while falling asleep user the stars.
Well kept and enjoyable park with lots of amenities. Use bug spray and respect the park rules.
4.5 stars, it's quiet and friendly. There was boat access, camp showers, and restrooms. You can get firewood and ice right on the grounds during the day. There is a nice playground for the kids. It's not 5 stars only because the beach part of it was not great. Plus, the beach is open as much. The hours aren't the same as a state beach. You get kicked out of the water if the lifeguards aren't there even if you have 20 adults in the water with kids. Still a great place for camping!
We love this park! A playground with a good sized plastic & metal area of at least 3 slides, climbing wall and more. There is a boat that sways. A true jungle gym to climb through and many different types of swings. Best part? The serene view of Oneida lake with a sandy beach. There is a small gazebo, drums and a wooden xylophone type area for smaller children or any age really to play as well. Some see-saws too! Want to have a picnic? There are benches and picnic tables under trees. Do watch out for the wildlife. Plenty of winged rats seagulls. We have seen a fox as well. It is dog friendly to nice leashed pets pick up after them!. Free to use the playground when the beach is closed.
It’s a great place to visit and having family parties. If you are going with kids, they can play sometimes within the quite a big playgrounds. It also has small beach area and nice and clean restrooms. You can do camping in camping area and boating in your private boats. In addition, this park has parking areas. Overall, I'd recommend to visit and spend sometimes there.
Very nice park with a beach, big jungle gym area,, camping area, boat launch, and lots of open space. Restrooms: They have restrooms near the boat launch and at the beach/playground. I assume they have restrooms in the camping area too Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly except in the playground and beach area.
I have stayed at Oneida Shores many times over the years and more recently they have added a lot of upgrades to the beach, playground, campsites and showers. My only complaint would be the bugs near the bathroom at night are insane! It was like a huge, thick cloud that covered the entire building. I'm not really sure what can be done about it since they're attracted to the lights outside the building but maybe maintenance could spray or something. It made the thought of going to the bathrooms at night a daunting experience. Overall, my experiences here have been good and the views of the lake are lovely. It is a nice park to camp at with a decent price and sites with electric and water are available.
Small campground located on Oneida Lake. Enjoyed our stay…fishing, playgrounds at the beautiful beach area. Clean restrooms, showers, dog friendly. A good place for family camping or just come for the Recreation.
