Am always treated as if our accounts were stuffed with loot, even if they only have $15 in them. Have never paid a fee, never paid for a check, and have on several occasions received notary and other special services without any cost. While eliminating the extra $$$ that I foolishly paid to Bank of America for 2 decades is A OK. My favorite part of being an On Point member is that in last 10 years I've never had anything close to a negative experience with them. They have without doubt been a bright spot to do business with. Our entire family and most of our friends have switched over. Thanks OP. Please keep what has made you so great as you keep growing.
They were the best at some point in time. They had the best auto / home loans in the market and great service. HOWEVER, those days are gone. I have charges made to my ATM card for a service that I have no idea what they are for. The company is linked to them, and I am having a hell of a time fixing the charges. Over $750 in charges. NOTE: I don't use my ATM or any checks from them. So the service had to be affiliated to one of their offers. Also, while trying to fix the issue, the receptionist hang up on me. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTED CAREFULLY.
When i walked into the bank it was so nice because the banks doors are handicap friendly. The reason i found that so refreshing is because i walk using a walker. So not having to fight a door as i often due , these doors opened with the push of a button. I got into the bank and headed for the large line which always seems to be there and waited for my turn. Finally after 10 minutes of waiting it was my turn. I stepped up to the counter and the cashier greeted me in a friendly way ,a big smile and a hello my name is Angela how can i help you? I just needed to cash a check because this was not my bank but my mother's . I always tell my self to go use my own bank but i end up wanting to give this bank the benefit of the doubt. However, many times i go into this OnPoint community credit union; there is always and i do mean always along line. They have empty places were other cashiers could be using to help other customers. But in all my visits to this place of business theres always a long line and empty stations ware other cashiers could be using to help speed up the process. So, if you're interested in opening a bank account i would strongly advise against doing it here!
I am soooo frustrated. I have been a member since Onpoint was Portland Teacher's Credit Union in the 90's, when this establishment was amazing. Service has gone downhill in the last few years! Latest example: today I was on hold waiting to speak to a service member for an HOUR!!! A person FINALLY picked up. I was mid-sentence not mad or anything, sitting still, excellent cell service... and the call dropped-I assume on their end. Either way SHE should have called me back!!!!! Onpoint-- please make that a policy!!! On hold AGAAAAAAAAAIN-10 minutes and counting- I never do reviews, but sitting here getting more and more restaurant is giving me plenty of time to get on here and do this. Ready to move my account due do multiple issues over time-this is getting to my tipping point... Update: After another half an hour on hold, I was helped by Montana, who was very patient, helped me with my issues, promised he would call me back if contact was lost again which did not happen, and explained that the chaos of the phone today is due to the relief checks and everybody seeing if they got them or not which had nothing to do with why I was calling. I am changing the rating from a 1 to a 3 simply because of Montana. Onpoint, I hope you appreciate good workers/communicators, willing to admit when they don't know something/get help when needed... For now, my money stays with you because of people like him. However, Onpoint, when wait times are so long, you need to have music playing instead of the same announcement over and over and OVER again. That alone can cause a person to get annoyed quickly! In the very least, update the announcement to explain why there's a heavy load, so we know not to sit on the phone expecting to have our call answered.
Well I guess I am fortunate not to get Brad as my point of contact when I joined the CU a year ago. A nice young woman help me open my accounts, she answered every question as I told her what I wanted to do. She assisted in setting up accounts exactly as I ask. I do not require a lot of fluff dealing with CS people, as long as they listen to my needs and don't interject and try to sell something I did not ask for and can finish a transaction swiftly and effectively, I think that is what most people are looking for.
After over 20 years at this institution I may finally be at the point of closing all my accounts and leaving. There has been increasingly frustrating things over the past few years. The final straw was today after sitting down with their business account specialist Valyrie. At the beginning of the summer she told us several things we needed to do. After doing those things appears she doesn't understand the way businesses work or her own bank for that matter. Her recommendations have had negative ripple effects that will take months to fix and clean up, costing me thousands of dollars in deposits as well as having to pay my biller all the extra time to do that. All I got pretty much was a shrug and oh well.
Been banking with OnPoint as my primary account for 12 years. However, two weeks ago I had a very unprofessional transaction with one of their tellers, and it me the entire two weeks of going through assistant management to get the information I needed. Not cool, OnPoint. This is the worst branch in the bank, in my opinion.
I have been with onpoint for 20 plus years and have always spoken highly of this bank. strangely though, in the past year there have been a ton of problems. payments declined even though cash was present, overdraft not working for mysterious reasons that no one could understand after multiple phone calls I have never had an issue getting a person on the line in 20 years. It seems like there are issues with training or higher level management that results in some things slipping through the cracks? I don't know but this year has been a little different from the past 20. Ive had 2 CUDL loans with them that were great, online bill pay plus, a home equity loan... but for all intents and purposes no lovely options for home mortgage servicing and walked away with the impression that they might actually not want to enter into this area. I may switch after 20 years because I am getting tired of the problems I am having but, not sure I could improve on the past 20 years.
This is a great place to do your personal banking. As a business owner we've found it to be more complicated for business banking. But our personal car loans are through On Point and we have great rates. They have a nice website to work with and good ATM access. And they're open for a few hours on Sat. which is nice.
We went and sat with the business account specialist Valyrie she gave us some advice on a change we needed to make on one of our business accounts. We made the change and came back in. She then informed us that because of the change we have to close our account and start a new one because we made the changes she told us to do. When we made the changes it affected our billing and we lost thousands, on top of that had to pay labor for our biller to call and make changes. Now being informed that we have to close the account and start new means we will again lose out on our billing, and have to pay to get our payroll switched over, and all of our billing. Instead we are closing all of our accounts. 3 personal checking accounts, 6 savings accounts, and 2 business accounts.
