Ontario Barn Quilt Trails is
a network of champions that are building and promoting their communities with Barn Quilts.
Barn quilts are rural eye candy! Installed on heritage barns, they draw attention to Ontario’s disappearing rural landscapes, timber frame barns, and the family farm.
Barn quilts mark the trail. Linked together to outline a themed route, barn quilts lead visitors from one site to the next.
Barn quilts tell a story. They draw attention to historical places that are not otherwise marked. Each eight-foot square mural is linked to a geographic position with the story shared via google map, a web-site, and social media.
Barn quilts work with social media. Travellers still want a paper map, but they also love their smart phones and GPS devices. Daytrippers research their routes on-line prior to departure.
Barn quilts attract sponsors. The sponsor’s name is linked to a barn quilt and featured in the promotional campaign. Clever use of social media can allow businesses, farms, and communities to communicate their message via the barn quilt trail.
The Ontario Barn Quilt Trail is an “advocate and organizer of barn quilts and barn quilt trails where ever they are located”.
Our product is a promotional tool for barn quilt trails that feature at least ten barn quilt blocks sized 8 foot square or larger. If your community has a trail of 10 or more large barn quilts, contact us about posting your trail at barnquilttrails.ca
