Quality of care has degraded over recent years. Today, they had my sister, a patient brought in by ambulance, walk out of the ER. No wheelchair. No apparent concern that she could collapse or struggle. I'm so disappointed to see what used to be a great hospital become a shell of itself.
I went to ER today because I had the flu 3 weeks ago and have had a headache every since I have been sick. The Dr. Jeansome said it's just tension and acted like he didn't want to hear my symptoms. He gave me a prescription and after only looking up my nose. The lady that came to discharge me came and charged me for my bill before discharging me, I have never had a hospital do that. The lady at the front desk avtef with more care than the ones in the back..
I cannot speak highly enough about the outstanding care my brother received at Opelousas General Health System's Wound Treatment Center. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that their staff was committed to providing exceptional healthcare services. The treatment my brother received was nothing short of outstanding. The medical professionals at Opelousas General Health System demonstrated their expertise and dedication throughout the entire process. They took the time to thoroughly assess my brother's condition and develop a personalized treatment plan. They explained each step of the procedure and answered all of our questions with patience and clarity. Thank you, Opelousas General Health System, for the exceptional care you provided. You made a significant positive impact on my brother's health, and we are forever grateful.
Antoinette Mason is amazing at her job. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable. She made my husbands pre-admit a breeze
My daughter went in with a broken arm. And we had X-rays taken right away and our ER nurse Lori was amazing. She was so good with Anna and helped me stay calm and explained everything to me. She didn’t leave the room after sedation until she knew both her dad and I were okay. And she checked on us at least every 10 minutes. She was the best nurse and service we have ever gotten there!!
This place have some lazy workers who only come for a paycheck If you dont want to do your job don't sign up for it Some of the ER workers don't care about you or your family member No extra beds Don't drink or wash your hands over there the water is brown
**Don’t let this empty Reply from the hospital fool you. I immediately called the number two times after they asked me to call and got a voicemail both times. Figures they’d be more attentive to appearances than actually available to address patient concerns** Top to bottom, this was the worst hospital stay I’ve ever experienced for any of my children. We went in for a simple tonsil/adenoid removal and 25 hours later the hospital still didn’t know who was on first. We were assigned a room for the night despite initially being told we wouldn’t need to stay overnight. When we showed up to our room, it looked like a storage room. Spare beds, random medical equipment strewn about, lights off, etc. It was like nobody on the floor knew we were coming. Then when our child was being brought into the room we heard one nurse ask the other at what rate my child should be administered the IV treatment. The nurse shrugged and said “probably 20?” Then my child spent the entire day with no pain medication despite the doctor saying that should have been the first thing done. Then 24 hours later when the doctor followed up we told her our child felt warm. It was at this point that she realized they hadn’t given my child any antibiotic after her surgery. We went the entire day without pillows and blankets. Just one single sheet. When we asked for sheets/blankets/pillow since we were spending the night, they brought it in and handed it to us to put on the bed ourselves. During our stay, my child ate 3 red/purple popsicles and drank red Powerade the first day. On the second day the nurses told us she couldn’t have anything red/purple. The doctor showed up and said that was an outdated concern. So the doctor and staff had no consistency in what we could and couldn’t do despite the hospital initially giving us the red/purple products Maybe they were just short-staffed or there was poor communication between doctor and nurses, but this was ridiculous. We were forced to stay overnight for subpar medical treatment instead of bringing our child to her home where we could’ve taken care of her better than this. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is because the nurses were very kind the entire time. But kindness only does so much to fix subpar management.
This facility is very clean and have a wonderful staff. I like that they walk you to where you need to be after checking in. The nurse came in my room and told me what I needed to do to prepare for the procedure and the anathesiologist checked in with me and updated me on what to expect. The surgical staff were very comforting and kind. Doctor spoke to me beforehand and agrees. Was very pleased with the whole experience
My wife recently had an outpatient procedure with Dr. Amy. Check in to check out went smoothly. Mrs. Paula, her nurse and the other Same Day surgery staff, Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Gladys, were very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Amy and his surgery crew did a great job with updating before and after the procedure.
The entire staff here is amazing. The facility is super clean which is important especially for a medical place. I was made to feel comfortable in an otherwise uncomfortable situation. The tech Ms. Dorothy was very nice and professional. Would definitely come back and recommend this place!
