The Main Exhibit Room which consist of Prehistory, People of Opelousas, Agriculture, Home and Family, Business and Professions, Music and Food, Opelousas Hall of Fame.
Civil War Room: During the Civil War, Opelousas was the capital of Confederate Louisiana. Governor Thomas O. Moore lived in the community and the state legislature met and enacted legislation in the courthouse and the LaCombe Hotel. The town was also served as a federal post and millitary depot. General Nathaniel Banks was in the community and federal troops camped near the St. Landry Catholic Church.
Geraldine Smith Welch Doll Collection: This collection contains over 400 dolls that will delight men and women of all ages. The dolls exhibit depicts American Hertiage, Acadiana and Folk Culture, Antiques and Reproductions, Pop Culture, International Culture, Miniatures and Royalty from around the world.
Rod Milburn exhibit of the Olympic Gold Medalist Collection and Gary Steckler art is also on display.
