I came to them to have two teeth removed. They both broke at the gum line. The staff and Doctor S. were great and very supportive. But I had two problems. When the nurse hooked me up to the laughing gas, I could tell by experience, that I wasn't getting anything through the mask. I told her and the doctor that I didn't get any of the gas and they didn't believe me. He had to give me several shots just to control the pain. Then when he had to drill the root out I almost came out of that chair. Please when I say there isn't any nitrous coming out of the mask, check the lines!! I have had plenty of work done on my teeth and I know what the gas smells like and feels like. I won't be going back.
First tooth extraction. Traumatizing and painful experience. The nurse I don't know her name and Dr Yates were unsympathetic. I felt REAL pain. They kept telling me they couldn't do anything about the pressure. It wasn't pressure it was PAIN! I will never go back.
Was told Dr.Farnsworth was just wanting an updated X-ray and wasn't billing my insurance. Well guess what was billed to my insurance I'm not sure if its because 2 of the assistants messed up and had to do 4 X-rays machine wasn't locked properly or they just like teetering on the edge of Dental Fraud. Either way avoid at all costs, Dr.Farnsworth has House syndrome and is either that good and has every right to be arrogant or that bad either way don't roll the dice at this table.
Had a great experience with Dr. Shumate and the staff. Outside of the injections the tooth Extraction was painless. Dr. Shumate had it out in under 5 minutes. Highly recommend him!
I had a tooth extracted yesterday by Dr. Yates. Not only was the staff super helpful before my appointment the extraction went super quick and easy. I have alot of anxiety and they all made me feel comfortable. I have thin blood so I was bleeding excessively after my appointment no fault of theirs the hole just wouldn't clot but I ended up having to call the on call Doctor. I was called back by Dr. Shumate who had me come in promptly even though it was night time and pouring outside. He met me at their office and had my bleeding under control in 10 minutes.
I had surgery Monday morning with Dr. Shumate. It was an extensive procedure ending with shaving my jaw bones. I was made to feel safe and comfortable the entire time and given the proper meds for aftercare. Today is post-op day 3 and the swelling is down and pain has always been manageable. Great staff, great surgeon! Highly recommend!
I would not rate this even a 1 star. I don't NOT RECOMMEND anyone to go here for any services. I feel I was highly discriminated against and 100% treated unfairly. I was referred to the oral surgeron Dr Robert Schumate. I had an appointment scheduled to have 2 wisdom teeth removed. I informed his office staff and him that I would need a leave of absence excuse to have time to rest and heal after the surgery. They denied me the leave of absence excuse for after the surgery over the phone. Then they cancelled my appointment with out my permission because disagreed with them on not fairly giving me a leave of absence excuse for recovery.
My child had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Mitchell Troyer. The Newburgh office was very kind, efficient and professional. Dr. Troyer explained everything beforehand so my son knew what would happen. Dr. Troyer was very professional and has a very kind, caring presence. He took the time to answer our questions, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and experience. Highly recommend!
The receptionist during my initial phone call was not very friendly and somewhat off putting, but I didn’t think much of it. People have bad days. She implied my appointment was at Gateway by asking me “are you familiar with gateway?” to which I replied, “yes, my daughter had her surgery with you in 2018.” When I arrived today, I was told my appointment was downtown, subsequently making me quite late. Reception at the downtown office made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience and didn’t apologize for the issue, but rather implied over and over that it was my fault. Very very unpleasant. Funnily enough, a woman walked into the office after me and was told ‘HER appointment was at Gateway’ to which she replied, “they told me I was at Virginia St!” For this “consultation” I was never told who I would be seeing, what to bring, OR asked if I had preference for who would be doing my surgery. Upon checkout, I asked if a specific surgeon could be requested but the woman at the counter acted as though this request was some sort of HUGE faux-pas, and I think she almost literally clutched her pearls. Again, I was never told who they were assigning me to, or asked if I had preference. I have never had surgery in my life and did not know the etiquette of the Oral surgery group, but she let me know, she sure did - and this request is certainly going to inconvenience the dentists and I am going to look really really bad [wags finger]. I am not exactly sure what is going on with the customer service, but Oral Surgery group needs to go back to the basics of customer service 101. I am trying to schedule my appointment for wisdom teeth removal and this place has been terrible to deal with. My daughter saw Edwards and he was a very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive dental surgeon who I would love to have do my extraction, but what this office has put me through has really made me lose my trust in them. Having teeth extracted is already unpleasant. The unfortunate ordeal OSG staff has really left a bad taste in my mouth and I will be going elsewhere.
Had my teeth extracted with Oral Surgery Group. The extraction was fine, the doctor and team were great, however their billing is one of the worst I've dealt with and that's a pretty competitive title. You can walk these people through your explanation of benefits, you can show them that they didn't charge the PPO rate they're contractually obligated to charged as being a member of the PPO program with insurance and they still don't understand. They've over charged my insurance and still have an outstanding balance. This is all still going on 2 YEARS after the procedure due to their negligence to follow very clear and meticulous direction by both myself and the insurance company. The incompetence honestly blows my mind. After 3 incorrect submissions to insurance, they still can't even manage to honor the PPO prices. The most basic billing request.
