This is a great place for sports, working out, or just cooling down. They have a great program for kids & adults to play basketball freely for a certain amount of time everyday. It's also very clean and sophisticated. If you have a child 17 and under that enjoys playing basketball, you can sign them up for a FREE membership and it allows them to come in on their own or with a parent/guardian, scan their ID, receive a basketball if it's available, and play. They also have a game room, featuring ping pong, air hockey, and other games. They have a gym room, recreational rooms, tennis courts, and bathrooms as well. Overall, it's an amazing place that has lots of things to utilize!
It was so crowded on Sunday that we had to play to 7. Enjoyed playing pickleball in the A/C. Pickleball is available Mon & Fri from 10:30 to 12:30. There are 6 courts but it is very crowded.
This is a great recreation center and a great resource for the community. Gym is decent size and has updated equipment. The center is always clean and usually not very busy. The indoor basketball has two full courts and basketballs available to borrow. Also has a nice game room. Highly recommend! Membership pricing is a bargain compared to local for profit gyms in the area, which are more expensive and much more crowded. The recreation center is great for kids and adults.
I haven’t joined the membership yet although it is on my mind. My grandson plays sports on a team here. The playground outside is nice too. They have a very nice gym, weight room, game room, and tennis courts. There are shelters with grills to cook on. Very nice place!!
We rented the community room. Super nice staff. They set up tables and chairs for you. They have carts to borrow to move things from the car to the room. Definitely will rent again!
Great clean gym, Staff is always nice.
Always clean with friendly staff! If you forget a ball, the Rec center always have free Wilson Evo balls that can be borrowed. The cardio machines & weight room are well maintained!
The Orlando area really drove a good bargain demanding the Magic organization build these recreational centers in exchange for support to build the new arena. I wasn't hopeful of the proposed usefulness of the buildings and was actually quite surprised when the Goldenrod location was chosen. Actually, I was a little upset by it, but only because they need to use some of the land the park and tennis courts were on for the new building. The building is wonderful though. It's modest, but clean and functional. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the area is relatively safe as well. The game room is wonderfully retro; it is also modest but the few games it does have are all favorites of mine and my family, so when we go we could literally spend hours just in the game room. I've not yet been to any of their fitness classes, and I have not had a membership there yet, so I can't speak to those aspects. But, because of all the positive experiences I've had at this gym so far as a non-member, I'm convinced the absolutely rock-bottom price for their yearly members has to be worth it. Kids are free, and adults pay only $100/year. You pay for the classes per month or per session, which is really convenient for those of us who have hectic schedules. The weight room is by no means technology advanced, but I don't need or use any of the fancy machines at the other gyms I've been a member of long-time YMCA member, short-time LA Fitness member. I was hesitant to even write a review of this place, because honestly, I don't want my family's little secret to get out, that this place is amazing and affordable.
Great place for ballers Nice staff & good facilities. Wish we could play basketball till 9pm tho. 6-8 is too quick
I use the tennis court. Depending on what time you go; if after 5pm, there is usually someone there already, but they have a 1hr rule. We practice on the bike path while waiting. Watch out for the bicycles! They also have badminton there on Tuesdays after 7pm.
