A site for comments and discussions of Orange Township residents regarding the 2013 Parks, Trails and Greenways Master Plan Update.
The Orange Township Parks is a part of Orange Township, OH. It operates and maintains all parks, swimming pool, ice-skating pond, sledding hill, and trails. The Parks are operated by a voter approved Parks Levy and are for the enjoyment of all.
The purpose of this Facebook page is to provide an opportunity for public engagement as part of the 2013 master plan update for Orange Township. The master plan is a document that serves as a guideline for the township in the planning and development of the parks and trails system. We welcome your comments and expect that participants will treat each other with respect. By posting on the Orange Township Facebook page, the user agrees that he/she has read and understands the Township's removal policy; that he/she will not post content identified by the removal policy as "prohibited; and that the administrators may remove any and all posts which the Administrators, in their sole discretion, deems to be "prohibited content".
By posting on the Orange Township 2013 Parks, Trails, and Greenways Master Plan Update Facebook page, the user agrees that he / she has read and understands the Township’s removal policy; that he / she will not post content identified by the removal policy as ‘prohibited’; and that the Administrators may remove any and all posts which the Administrators, in their sole discretion, deems to be ‘prohibited content’.
The term ‘prohibited content’ will be interpreted to include the following:
• Violent, libelous, obscene, profane, hateful, or inappropriate comments regarding race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or age.
• Language which threatens or harms the reputation of any person, or organization.
• Content which promotes alcoholic beverages, cigarettes or other tobacco products, or any illegal product, service or activity.
• Content which is political in nature (regardless of political leanings).
• Content which supports or opposes any labor organization, or which supports or opposes any action by, on behalf of, or against any labor organization.
• Advertisements, solicitations of any kind, or language which promotes illegal activity.
• Off topic content (i.e. language that does not pertain to the plans, policies, and operations of the Orange Township Park Department).
• Personal information, including email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, or identification numbers.
• Content which does not conform to Ohio Revised Code 9.03 requirements.
Please note that the comments expressed on this site, other than those posted by the Orange Township Parks Department, do not reflect the opinions and position of the Parks Department or its officers and employees. Pursuant to R.C. § 9.03(B), the Township may expend public funds to create a Township Facebook page, in order to communicate information about the Township’s plans, policies, and operations to members of the public who may be affected by the Township.
All postings and comments are subject to public records law.
Public Records
Content posted to the Township's Facebook page will constitute public records, as that term is defined by Ohio's Public Records Act. The Revised Code defines 'public records' to include any record created, generated, sent, communicated, received, or stored by electronic means by any public office which serves to document the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, operations, or other activities of the office. See R.C. § 1306.01; R.C. § 149.011(G). As such, posts which are created by or received by the Township and which are stored on the Township's Facebook page will constitute a public record. Importantly, even citizen-posts which are deemed 'prohibited content,' and thus deleted from the Facebook page, will constitute public-records subject to the Revised Code's requirements.
