Nice little nature area to hike, bike or trail run. Not very big, so if you’re a long distance person, will need to do a few loops
Great trails! You can see most of Santa Maria and all the way to Pismo. Best time of year is the spring.
A great bunch of hiking/ biking trails. You can explore the beautiful trails and get a perfect view of the Santa Maria valley with only a casual 20 minute walk to the water tower. If you continue farther into the trails you can easily walk for an hour and find a quiet picnic spot with great views along the way. The trails are great for bikers, even beginners, and I can attest to surviving the trails many times on a hybrid bike with a thinner tire. Cons: - there is NO water, so bring your own - only a few benches scattered around - the trails can get washed out or very sandy, so be careful riding a bike down hill
This is a therapeutic hiking spot. Great trails. Not at all crowded. Friendly fellow hikers ... the terrain can be both brutal and relaxed ... biking trails. It's just a really great spot to clear your mind and be healthy.
Great place to hike, bike, or explore!
Lots of trails and beautiful. Close to home.
A great place to hike and mountain bike. Also a great place to bring the kids to play, and take your pets to the dog park.
Great Views...Beautiful Trees!! Best Hije in Santa Maria Valley
Very tranquil area where you can forget that you are in a city. We saw some deer on the hills across the way. Currently the path to the right of the trail head is closed. Maybe this is the less strenuous route other reviews spoke about. We went to the left since that was the only choice and it gets pretty steep in some areas. I would do it again but with a water bottle in hand and lots of breaks to catch my breath. This review is probably helpful for the casual hiker. More experienced hikers probably won't have a problem with the inclines.
Wonderful scenery. Peaceful and very quiet.
