Oregon City High School

Description

Oregon City High School is a public high school in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. It is the third-most populated high school in Oregon.HistoryOregon City High School was established in 1885 on the lower level of Oregon City on Jackson Street. Due to the growing number of students in the late 1980s, in the 1989–1990 school year the Moss Junior High School was established as Moss Campus (freshmen only) on the other side of Oregon City. In the early 2000s, construction began on the Moss Campus to convert it into a larger campus that could accommodate all grades. Construction finished on the new campus, often referred to as Beavercreek, in 2003. The first year with a traditional school model of 9th to 12th graders was the 2003-2004 school year. The other campus, Jackson, for 10th to 12th graders, opened in 1885, but closed in 2003 due to the aftereffects of multiple disasters (fires and earthquakes) and the inability to effectively repair the damage. The building is now the campus for the Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS), and is still in use for basketball games and other activities. After construction finished, academics shifted to the new campus, although football games are still played on the football field located across the street from the old campus at Pioneer Memorial Stadium. Many current sporting events are still held at Pioneer Memorial Stadium including football, soccer, lacrosse, and track and field.AcademicsIn 1985, Oregon City High School was honored in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest honor a school can receive in the United States.Oregon City offers 14 Advanced Placement courses and is connected to Clackamas Community College, where some Oregon City Courses are taught by professors.

Only a few good teachers. But 75% should be fired for not knowing what they are doing. Only a few teachers are actually willing to help you get your grades up. I dread going to school because 4 of 5 are my teachers are total air heads.
I've only driven there as a bus driver. My experience with the parking lot was very nice. The concrete was smooth and easy to maneuver. I like that in a parking lot. Only 4 stars because no one brought me hot chocolate upon arrival.
Most of the teachers are nice. The staff in the offices are very stuck up and rude. The education aspect is very good. There are many electives. The arts choir, band, drama, intro to art/drawing and painting/airbrush etc. are not valued as much as education and I feel it hurts the students' self esteem. Students have so much homework. They focus too much on their future and worry about getting into a good college and they don't have time to do what they ENJOY doing. A lot of students are pressured to take Pre-AP/AP classes and they take on a work load that is bigger than they can handle. If it's your child's birthday, you are not allowed to bring them flowers or balloons because it "interrupts their education", though one of their friends can bring them gifts and it is accepted. This school puts education before everything and that's great, but you'd think they cared a little more than they do about parents and how involved they are with their children.
I went to this school as a freshman and I made so many new friends! The teachers are beyond awesome and helped me get A's. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who likes to have awesome teachers and friends!
Everyone is relatively nice. There are a few teachers/students who aren't but that is expect from a school of this size. I'd give it 6 pickles out of 6 pickles. Does good for what it is.
I was part of a All Day Traveling Group back in the day When i didnt work there i was allowed to head home on early days when i didnt have work at the school Districts : I worked at OCHS King Mt Pleasant Redland Holcomb Jennings it was pretty fun back in the day thats how it is with 435,000 students each day
Loved this place for its new construction with also the fact that classes had their own computers. If only it offered more fun and electives, it would have been perfect.
Good school. Has pretty good staff all around and provides lots of AP classes, clubs, sports and courses for students.

Why is it that everytime I come to pick up my sister I have to wait for 30 minutes until she is dismissed?
