It's a sweet little park of green trees, lots of wildlife, picnic tables, children's play structure, leashed dogs and basketball court courtesy of Nike. We've had some beautiful winter days as of late and the Parks Department crew are doing a great job with caring for this little treasure, its safe, clean, and well tended grounds with wheelchair accessibe paths that cut through the park.
Nice park. Clean, homeless free, garbage free, graffiti free. People need to keep their dogs on a leash. You never know how one dog will react to another dog. I came across the different individuals letting their dog run free. Totally unacceptable and blatant disregard for others that follow the rules and leash their dogs!
This park has a serene feel to it, even with it's small size 1block squared. The playground is substantial and CLASSIC! Wood play structure with suspended bridge and metal slide. Also teeter totter x3, a free standing metal slide, old-skool TIRESWING, and traditional swing set +1 for tots.
My daughter loves it there. We go often. It isn't too far of a walk. Swings, picnic tables, slides, basketball court, bathrooms, etc
Some people might not like the bathroom people, but most of them are pretty neat. Just trying to keep clean in this dirty little rock we call Earth. The name isn't important, the fauna is what's most interesting. Humans, that's what this park has to offer. That, and a few squirrels. I think there are raccoons here too? Mostly people though, oh and dogs. The cutest dogs ever.
Love that this park is almost never crowded, and the size is nice. Heavily treed, which can be nice in some weather, but in the winter it gets very muddy and the mud can kind of smell bad. Great mix of play options, sports court, paths, and there are bathrooms & water fountain though they are closed/turned off in the winter.
Nice little one block park. Lots of trees, not much sunshine. Few picnic tables. No dog area. There is a pickle ball court and basketball hoops. The kids play address is designed for children about 3 plus. Only one infant swing, slides and climb area were too big for the real little. Over all a nice park that is well maintained.
The bathrooms are ok. Theres lots of shade. I mean lots for these hot days tgat we have.
Could have a updated playground its not very toddler friendly unless you have a no fear toddler that can really climb haha love the tire swing not very many places have those anymore. Park was super clean bathroom seemed maintained. Grass was nice and there were plenty of places to have a picnic
Cute park in the Kerns neighborhood. Amenities include basketball courts, playground, and merry-go-round. Bathrooms and water fountains are in operation from around memorial day to about the end of September. There are paved trails through the park and wide open areas for recreation. The park is handicap accessible but all parking is on-street and the streets around the park are rather narrow, so be ready to find a place that's right for you. This park is a great spot for a little recreation with the kids, or playing frisbee in the open areas. Like many SE Portland parks there are tall trees and the whole place feels close to nature despite being in the middle of the city. Just be careful in the rainy season, as the field gets pretty muddy and the trails get slippery from the moss.
