My stay at South Lake Hosp was excellent. My nurses, Assistances, the nice lady that delivered my meals and the technicians were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was attentive, never in a bad mood or grumpy. They were always helpful, smiling, and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. Melissa and Lisa, my PT ladies were awesome too. The rooms were clean, only thing was the food, the salmon was very good but the green beans seemed like the had been taken directly out of the freezer to the plate, much too crispy but they tasted good from the only 1 I ate. Overall a very good stay.
I spent 2 nights in this hospital for an emergency issue two years ago and had the best care I could possibly think of. The staff, especially the nurses made my stay less traumatic than I thought it would be. 5 stars I just now had major surgery at South Lake and that experience rates 5 stars again. Everyone from the valet attendant, admin clerk, nurses, my surgeon and the volunteer who pushed my wheelchair to my car treated me with the upmost professionalism and compassion. Surgery is never "fun" but I would not hesitate using South Lake Hospital for any future needs. This is a top rate hospital.
I wouldn’t recommend any other hospital to deliver at. Every single nurse was amazing. They were so informative and helpful - especially as first time parents. They offer so many resources after birth, we left feeling so confident. I would give 10 stars if I could. Our entire experience from start to finish was exceptional
South lake hospital was such an amazing hospital. This was my first birth so I was so nervous but everyone made me feel so comfortable! The labor and delivery team that was on duty 9/14 to the early morning of 9/15 was amazing! The nurse was so caring and loving! My recovery team was phenomenal. Mary & Kali were so caring. Latisha was so helpful our first night as parents. Kathy was really our rock. She treated us like family and made me so confident in being a first time mom. Kathy holds such a special place in our heart. She made my husband feel so comfortable too. The food was literally so good for it being hospital food.
So, my wife and I walked into the ER around 4:30pm because she was experiencing strong cramps in her lower abdominal area. We just found out she was pregnant about a week ago. To make a long story short; it’s been over 4 hrs later and we’re still waiting. After expressing my concern to the front desk about my wife’s pain getting worse, she tells me they are tending to more serious matters. Really?? I can’t believe the service I’m receiving here at South Lake. Please, save yourself the trip and go to a different hospital that’ll actually take care of you. South Lake clearly has different priorities. Hope this helps someone else.
On June 9-11, 2023, I was hospitalized because of a dangerous virus I caught named Norovirus. I have been attending South Lake Hospital for many years. In my opinion, it is the best hospital in Lake County and surrounding counties. Customer service toward patients had been outstanding. However, in this hospitalization, things turned very different and unexpected. For example, after being in the emergency room for a couple of hours with extreme vomiting and diarrhea, I didn't notice a few of the blue long little bags for patients to vomit, were on the floor. A nurse named Luanne with short black with blonde highlights hair was upset with me and was accusing me of tossing the blue bags on the floor. I apologized for not noticing, and she kept arguing with me regarding that matter. At that moment, I was being transferred to an isolated room so I stopped paying attention to her claim. I spent three days in the Isolated room. While I was there, nurse Jasmine was good. Heidi, the nurse assistant, was very good too and very caring. Additionally, nurse Genson's care was extraordinarily good and so was Kevin's. Dr. Santos made me feel that she cared about me, and she took the time to make me feel better. On the contrary, Anna the nurse assistant was extremely rude to me. Anna's tone of voice was always like she was mad at me. At one point, she came to clean the portable toilet. After cleaning the toilet, she was trying to take my vitals WITH THE SAME GLOVES SHE CLEANED THE PORTABLE TOILET!! When I asked her if she was going to change her gloves, she got very upset with me and her exact words were "Now I have to exit the room, tossed the gloves, put in hand sanitizer, and change the gloves again". My answer was "Well, do whatever you have to do but you ARE NOT going to use the same gloves to take my vitals". She was trying to argue with me so I prohibited her to come back to my room. Whoever was in charge took care of the situation, and they sent another nurse assistant. Even though I had this unsanitary situation, I still believe that South Lake Hospital is a great hospital because, in almost 20 years of visiting this hospital, it is the first time I had a situation with any person from the hospital. Dr. Denise La Salle
I had a repeat c section here. The surgery team was awesome and made me feel safe but the real treasure here are the postpartum nurses! Latisha and Tatiana were both stand outs for me. They went above and beyond for my baby and I. I highly recommend having your baby at South lake hospital.
From check-in to departure, everyone was polite, professional, and pleasant. Natalia processed my lab procedure paperwork and caught a coding error and contacted the doctor's office to get a corrected copy. She was polite and professional with the prescribing office and explained what was missing, and she promptly received a new corrected script. The lab procedures went equally smoothly and professional. Clyde and his staff were great. Couldn't have been any better. Once again, I am glad to have a first class medical facility located nearby.
The medical team was excellent. The doctors worked together and they showed me they had my priority at hand. I was able to have a good conversation with the entire team that was supporting me. They LISTENED, that made me relaxed and was able to focus on getting better. Dr. Skipper and Dr. Adam were the two that stood out. Thank you to you all at the South Lake Hospital, patient care is really your priority.
A lot of times, especially doing tests like these, the tech is often quiet while they do their work. I usually don't mind, but my nurse for this procedure not only explained every step, but assured me that things look good afterwards I really appreciated it, since my condition has been nerve-wrecking and the ultrasound triggered some prior trauma, so having someone explain exactly what each step was grounded me and kept me calm
