It is important for patients to take an active role in their own health care. We encourage our patients to participate in reviewing and selecting their best treatment options, empowering them with the information and the tools to take positive steps towards their own recovery. Teamwork between physician and patient is our approach to treatment, and we believe a well-informed patient is an asset. Open, direct communication and personal attention is what you will find at the Orthopaedics Center of Brandon. Our surgeons do all initial patient evaluations and follow-ups themselves, using NO physician extender such as nurse practitioners or physician's assistant's. If surgery is an option, the procedure will be thoroughly explained. We want to help our patients overcome the fear of the unknown, and sense of helplessness and anxiety often associated with surgery, by keeping them well informed and by encouraging an open dialog.
