We visited here at the end of November 2022 for the first time. Ricardo was our waiter. We arrived early at 5:30pm, we made reservations but they didn’t seem that busy at that time as there were only two other tables. However, the restaurant did fill up rather quickly after we were seated. Inside was cozy and the ambiance was nice, the restaurant is in an older like home, much like the other restaurants in downtown Roswell. We were greeted by a hostess, and several other staff acknowledged us and welcomed us in. They had a wine on the menu we have never had, Hook & Ladder, delicious! We ordered the Shrimp Fettuccine and Salmon dishes. The food came out timely, hot, and fantastic- it was probably some of the best Italian we have ever had, at least locally. We were told they have been around for 9 years and also own Table & Main and Casa Robles. We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to others!
My wife and I had a memorable experience dining outdoors for a Saturday date night. We were not expecting so many children for a Saturday evening, but we managed to keep it intimate on their outdoor patio next to a warm fire. This is some of the best scratch-made Italian food I’ve had in over 20 years living in the Atlanta area. The service is outstanding and welcoming. I highly recommend dining at Osteria Mattone in beautiful downtown Roswell.
We've literally tried to go here three times, and have missed their open hours every time... admittedly our fault for lack of planning, lol. Finally! Got there at 3:30 on Mother's day and chose to wait for them to open at 4. Patio is first come first serve, btw. We ordered a couple of great glasses of wine, the grilled artichoke hearts and a margarita pizza. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Pizza crust was delicious, crisp and done in the middle one of my sticking points on pizza. Service was top notch. Everyone there, from the hostess, to the bartender and waiter were very attentive knew what they were doing. Also, have to mention the atmosphere. Inside, so cozy and cute! The patio is the showstopper. Tables on the stone patio are protected from the road by beautiful landscaping and the tables under the large tree in front are amazing. I'm including a pic...look for the lights hanging from the tree... I'm sure it's magical at night. Great experience! We will definitely go back!
Tiny portions. Incredibly tiny portions. We ordered nearly $100 worth of food and it feels like we got less than an appetizer. Honestly, the portion sizes are more like tapas and less like Italian. Actually, I think more food would have come in a tapas order or a kids meal. Worst Italian food experience I've had in the 30+ years I've lived in Atlanta. Heard good reviews and gave it a try but I should have ordered from one of their competitors.
When I don't feel like driving ITP to my fave Italian spots, Osteria Mattone does the trick. It's a solid neighborhood restaurant with friendly service, a fantastic outdoor patio, & straightforward, delicious Italian classics. Kim Tip: Don't miss out on the Arancini.
Great atmosphere! The fried risotto balls were excellent. Highly recommend. I had sea bass and it was tasty although not Chilean you normally get.
Awesome new menu additions. We had the Fritto Miso, Spinach & Strawberry Salad and 2 amazing pasta dishes. The Spring Pea Ravioli is my new favorite. Best patio on Canton Street !!!
The panna cotta alla vaniglia, crostata ricotta e figura, and budino caramellato were delicious! My favorite was the budino! The bread pudding was moist and warm, paired with that amazing fior di latte gelato topped with salted caramel was absolutely amazing!Recommended dishesBudino Caramellato
What a beautiful place. We came from out of town to visit friends and had a great time. The food was delicious they make their pasta in house and service was amazing. We book the Yurt which is a small decorated outdoor tent looking thing. It was such a cool experience.
Wonderful Italian restaurant with great alfresco dining located on historic Canyon street. Excellent Roman cuisine offered by the masterful Chef Eric. Great food, service and a wonderful extensive wine list. Starting off with warm grilled Tuscan bread and olive oil; we decided on the braised short ribs and grilled Branzino. The AGNOLOTTI DI OXO -braised short rib stuffed pasta, butter sauce, jus was fantastic combination. The BRANZINO -grilled mediterranean sea bass, capers, grilled broccolini, onion puree was paired with pasta and a buttery white wine cream sauce… perfection. Nice bar area and a beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking Canton Street. Just a great overall experience.
