We firmly believe in the need to improve education in Utah. Over the last 20 years, our state has reduced public education funding by billions of dollars, thereby limiting student potential. Consider that:
More than half of Utah elementary students are not proficient in math, science, and English.
42% of Utah teachers quit within the first 5 years.
48% of Utah's working population has a post-high school education, well short of the state's 66% by 2020 goal.
Our kids deserve a high-quality education. High teacher turnover, large class sizes, and the nation's lowest per-pupil spending will continue to limit their success. Utahns are rallying around the Teacher and Student Success Act because we understand that investing in our schools will improve student learning.
Provide more resources for Utah students and teachers by passing the Teacher and Student Success Act — a Utah ballot initiative that will bring an additional $700 million annually into our local classrooms.
