If I could give more than 5 star I would. I am a true hiker NOBO They had what I needed. Gave me advice on where to stay along the trail and solved a equipment problem I was having with a water filter. Great customer service. Thanks again.
Started out the A.T with a backpack that didn't fit right. I mostly sucked it up, then I started asking people for help when the back and hip pain got too bad. Most outfitters either weren't knowledgable enough or didn't care. But John went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me buy a new backpack. Definitly some of the best customer service I have ever received.
Great spot right along the AT. Despite a fairly small interior, they’ve got a nice selection of just about everything one might need for hiking, backpacking, and camping. Very friendly, personable staff. Can’t wait to shop here again soon.
The store had good quality items and they seemed helpful but the fact that the employee wasn’t wearing a mask just seems careless and not following safety protocols during a pandemic. I just can’t support a business like that, wear a mask or a face shield atleast! It’s that simple.
Wonderful place for those needing outdoor hiking, camping, and so much more supplies at reasonable prices. Really enjoyed the lady there. She was so friendly and knowledgeable.
This a great place with knowledgeable staff. John gives great advice and takes the time to explain our choices. We even see him out on the trails on his day off. Highly recommend this store!
AT hiker. Stopped in to look at a new pack since mine was giving me problems. They were so helpful! I bought a pack, took my old one in the next day, and they boxed it up for me so that I could ship it home. Highly recommend this place!
I love this store! I bought every member of my family a pair of boots. Owen was the sales representative---and was so helpful!! he wears the same size as my son so he tried the boots on and ran around the store in them. So amazing!!
As stated in other reviews, this store is very rude to Appalachian Trail thru-hikers, which is surprising considering they are only half a mile from the trail. I was purchasing supplies for my hike and saw another hiker buying boots and mentioned to him that the manufacturer of those boots provides free replacements to thru-hikers. One of the employees, or might have been the owner, starts ranting at me about how thru-hikers shouldn't get special treatment from manufacturers and that he was "going to call his manufacturer representative to tell him". I kept trying to escape the conversation but the guy wouldn't read my signals of me walking away from him. Eventually I got out of there with my dehydrated meals and expired Clif bars but I was appalled at his treatment of a customer for mentioning that one of the manufacturers he carries takes exceptional care of their customers. This store can learn a lesson from that kind of customer care. I'm just passing through and this may be the only option in this town for specialty outfitter items, but I wouldn't ever stop in here again.
Great Place in every way, all the attention on Owen Turner in these reviews is well deserved. He tried on a jacket and poured scolding coffee on himself to highlight the waterproofing of a jacket I was looking at, and then juggled four comically large camping machetes to show how well balanced they are. I don't know if he lives here or something, but Owen is always at the store, and is my new favorite Clown College drop out.
