Outer Banks Hammock

Today I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time, Jonathan ,owner of Outer Bank Hammock Co. Within a few minutes , Jonathan overwhelmed me with suggestions about how he could convert my third floor deck into a tanning salon that I was hoping to enjoy. iI bought one about five years ago, I special ordered it with stainless steel rings at each end, the galvanized ones rust here in the Keys, one on a prior hammock, not Outer Banks, split and a guest fell, it rusted through at the bottom of the ring where it could not be seen, covered by the rope material. They charged me ten dollars extra then, and that seemed fair. Out of those five years, I estimate four have been with it slung outside in the elements, only the varnished pieces of wood separators show signs of wear, and just on the top side. I was going to order another one but saw the price was an extra $50 for the stainless rings option now, and that is way out of line. Granted, it includes two other pieces of stainless hardware for mounting, but one does not need those again.........so I decided not to buy a replacement and to re-stain and urethane the wood separators myself. Tried one of their chairs at an AirBnb in Wrightsville Beach and loved it so bought 2 for home. Just as great and super comfortable. I leave it outside year round and it still looks like new.

Waited in beach traffic to make it at the only time I could visit the shop. I also checked social media beforehand with nothing about being closed. The store was CLOSED, with a paper sign. The hours are not convenient for most people. I love supporting local businesses, but can't take a day off to look at hammocks.

Love love love it! Have had for 6 years in northeaster PA and they have held up beautifully. Would definitely recommend and buy again!

The owner sales person has always been extremely helpful and friendly. These hammocks and products are locally/ state made -just beautiful works of art. Quality is nice. I bought two beautiful Hamic chairs and they really made a difference for my decor. I highly recommend.

TERRIBLE customer service. The owner claimed he would replace my stand which was overrun with rust. Then, FIVE DAYS LATER, after it was taken to the dump to be thrown away, he asked me for photos of the rust. I'm now left with a hammock with no stand. I'd give 0 stars if google would let me. Stay away.
