Non-Profit Thrift Store.
The Oxford Thrift Shop began as an idea of the Ministerial Association. It first opened in 1999 in the Oxford Medical Clinic. Funds were raised by the Oxford Area Foundation and the community to renovate the former Foxes clothing store and relocate the store. Kirk Fox donated the building and renovations were begun and completed by volunteers with the help of the Village of Oxford. Later the Ministerial Association created a new Thrift store Board and handed the store over to them. Except for operating cost all of our profits go back to benefit the community.
The sucess of our store is due to our dedicated volunteers and the generous donations we receive from area communities and also from people from other states. Our store is staffed by up to fifty volunteers from Oxford and Local communites. Our volunteers take pride in our store. Every item is individually priced and our clothing prices range from .10 cents to $3.00 Only a few clothing items are priced higher. Misc. items and furniture are priced to fit its value.
Your donations have also help benefit the victims of Katrina and other disaster victims.
We appreciate your donations of furniture, clothing and miscellaneous items and they are accepted at the store anytime. For larger donations you can always contact a Board member who will gladly open the doors even when we are closed to accept your donation.
