Oyster Shell Park
"Provides Norwalk residents and all visitors a unique place from which to view the Norwalk Harbor and both waterfronts east and west of the Norwalk River. It is also a place for locals to wheel babies, and jog on newly refurbished trails. A new center plaza made from recycled glass and special concrete pavers overlooks the park. The pavers have a high solar reflecting value to reduce the urban heat island effect that makes cities warmer than their rural counterparts. The area surrounding Norwalk’s Oyster Shell Park is home to historic buildings, innovative and educational museums, and a variety of trails for the public to enjoy. Please be advised, there are NO DOGS ALLOWED at Oyster Shell Park."

Lovely park along the Norwalk River with some great walking/jogging trails. A few steps and lots of hills for those looking for a bit of a challenge. The park's paths are long enough to get in a decent workout. Childrens playground in the front of park near the parking lot. Park is clean and well kept. The free parking lot accessible from North Water Street accommodates about 25 vehicles. Walking distance to/from the Maritime Aquarium...great stop before or after your visit there.
Pretty decent park and a nice trail to walk. There’s a little bit of everything for anyone who comes here. Usually clean and well kept. There is a small free parking lot. The limit is "90 minutes." In the summer, the ice cream truck drives into the parking lot. Cons: There are dumb kids on mopeds driving on the sidewalk and through the playground. And when it gets dark, there are people smoking marijuana everywhere. I suggest not walking here at night, and if you do, don't go alone. Playground: Clean
Love the views and the trail is great for walks. There's a small playground for kids and disc golf course too. You will also find a few metal sculptures around.
Nice playground, but beware of the ironically dangerous safety sign. With sharp edges just at the right height and position for toddlers and small kids to bang their heads into it while they are in the playground. See photo
Beautiful and scenic area. Great place to pause and sit and get cool breeze from the Norwalk River.
Visited here yesterday as it was so close to the aquarium near by. Beautiful place with a full size playground. My only wish is that the road to and the deck is paved for a casual strolling. The roads were rough and there was just no way we could take a quite stroll. We had to return back out. But we will return again when we visit the aquarium next time.
I was in a very good show, I loved it
I love this park, I walk a dog here every week, it’s something I really look forward to. It’s beautiful climbing to the top of the hill and looking out over the harbor. There is a playground where people can bring their children to run around and play. There are also a lot of benches to sit on and an area where they have some Adirondack chairs where people can sit and relax.
Wonderful place to take long walks, very well maintained. Just follow the trail
I have lived in Norwalk for about 5 years, but just found out about this park a few weeks ago. I love it! And the path/run area is very long...there's a cute playground and very close to the water, seems like fishing is available.
