Paducah School of Art & Design (PSAD) proudly offers quality art education in West Kentucky! PSAD is a division of West Kentucky Community & Technical College, named as one of the nation's TOP TEN Community Colleges by The Aspen Institute.
Artists from across America and overseas have come to Paducah to participate in the rebirth of the city’s Lowertown district. The award-winning Artist Relocation Program has infused more than thirty million dollars into the city’s economy, while providing heightened cultural awareness that has enriched quality of life. In an effort to serve the people of the region and to anchor the arts community, the City has purchased and donated to West Kentucky Community & Technical College a 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the LowerTown arts district in order to create the Paducah School of Art & Design. Before renovating this facility, we equipped temporary studios in Downtown Paducah to house our startup classes. In less than four years, we have achieved an enrollment of over 400 students in our classes and we authored and currently offer Kentucky’s first Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree.
The Mission of the Paducah School of Art & Design is to promote student success, excellence in teaching and learning, and economic development through diverse visual arts programing.
The Vision of the Paducah School of Art & Design is to be a nationally recognized art program that promotes a creative community and regional economic growth.
