Coffee, Cuisine, & Cocktails

Description

The Painted Horse has a feel that says it is something different, yet it fits our region. But it can be anything people want it to be.

Coffee drinks and great breakfast items abound in the morning. Come start your day with us.

There are burger varieties aplenty – with toppings like mushrooms sautéed in red wine and garlic or barbecue sauce and bacon. The Hangover Burger comes with a fried egg, bacon and hash browns on top.

Appetizers are a big part of the menu – including a large assortment of chicken wings, spicy firecracker shrimp, Guinness Beer Cheese Soup and chili nachos made with pork shoulder roast and red chili.

Salads and soups are available, along with chicken, steaks and seafood.

There is a sense of dining, and drinks will be a special experience at Painted Horse.

Outstanding on all counts! Friendly yet unobtrusive service, clean and comfortable dining area, upbeat atmosphere, extensive menu of dishes made with premium ingredients. This place is awesome. Lunch for two 2 entrees, 2 teas, 1 appetizer, 1 pear cider including tip cost around $70 but that's partially due to our choices being on the upper end of the price spectrum. We have to drive 90minutes to get to Painted Horse, but we think it's worth the trip. We'll be back as often as is practical.
Everything we have eaten here has just been spectacular! The Hog heaven mac and cheese is decadent, the chicken fried steak is one of the best in the area, and the deserts were wonderful chocolate and carrot cake. Oh and for an appetizer we had the zucchini fries and fired mushrooms. Talk about fresh and so flavorful. The Painted Horse has a great atmosphere, very good service staff, and prompt bar service. If you are in the area, I strongly suggest stopping there for a meal. You will come out full and happy!
Amazing steak! Cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I was very impressed. The sides were delicious, Brussel sprouts and the potatoes went perfectly. The filet was wrapped in bacon which I was not expecting but it went well with it. Service was great and the place was clean and good atmosphere. Will look forward to coming back.
Man oh MAN is the food delicious at this place. We tried the Not Chose with brisket for an appetizer and the brisket simply melted in our mouths!! The owner also owns the ranch where the beef is sourced and it is beyond scrumptious. I ordered the Cluck Mac n Cheese and it was the epitome of Mac n Cheese adult-style. Super creamy, savory, layered with flavor and the perfect amount of heat from the jalapeños. These folks KNOW what they are doing I the kitchen!! You will not be disappointed.
Stopped for lunch on a Saturday along with most of the town. Filled with locals which is always encouraging! Sampled lots of yummy stuff: ribeye, mushroom burger, Mac and cheese, and the beer cheese dip. Highlights: $4 beer specials, all local beers too. Atmosphere. Quality of meat was incredible. Prices and quantity, come hungry! Lowlights: service was a bit slow but good!, long wait on food, and dining room was freezing.
We went for my birthday yesterday and the staff were super sweet! A little bit of wait time, but completely understandable because it was a bit busy. We had two drinks, Hail Mary and The Skyy is Falling. Both were super delicious!! The bacon in the Hail Mary was superb and the drink had just the right amount of seasonings. The Skyy is Falling was sweet and refreshing!
This place was recommended to me by someone I talked to in the airport. I decided to order the pot roast, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. It was good but overly salted. The potatoes were super salty along with the gravy. I also order water all the time when I eat, there was no bottle water to order and I'm not from the area and didn't know that the water and anything made with it was going to taste like oil and gas. I ordered a lemonade, same thing. I finally decided on a glass of wine because i needed something to drink to wash down the salt. So if you are just visiting I would bring bottles of water with you to any restaurants. I loved the names that some of the food was named. I thought that was different.
Hella good burgers. Not pictured, but equally as delicious was the Firecracker Shrimp and cake slices that were also exquisite. It's a cool little spot. We'll be back next year when work brings us into town again!
Very enjoyable. Environment welcoming. Service very good. Steak & Signature Mash-potatoes, Just Meatloaf and Green-beans VERY GOOD. Walking distance downtown.
Good small town bar & grill. The food is pretty good but theit menu is oddly a little too big. Meaning that there are items that you wouldn't normally see on small town menus... It's not just the typical burgers & fried foods. The beer selection is good for a small town saloon and includes a decent selection of a handful of craft beers. I had the chicken fried steak and it was good but not great.
