Painting Parties by Kellie is THE new in home party to host to entertain your friends and family.
1. It is a chance to experience an art class without all the expense.
2. A great way to get together with the girls (or guys) and do something different and be creative.
3. Painting can be fun and a great way to relax and enjoy some ME time. Painting with friends is even better.
The cost per person for a party is $35
I will give the host of the party a $25 discount if 5 or more people are booked. ($10)
I can travel up to 2 hours from Charlottesville (DC, Fredricksburg, Waynesboro), and charge a $15 per 50 miles. (this would be approx. $30 for a trip to DC).

I will provide the following:
Paint, Canvases, Easels, Brushes, Aprons, Paper plate palates, Water cups (for brush cleaning), paper table cloths, my own set up for teaching, and one extra 6 ft. table by request.
The host needs to provide the following:
Any tables and chairs needed for the party besides the 6ft table I have available. You are welcome to serve any type of alcoholic beverages, sodas, snacks, etc. Actually, drinking and eating while painting is encouraged! :) I also suggest that you inform your guests that while the acrylic paint can usually be washed out, just be aware that you likely will get some paint on your clothes, so choose your party wear based on this.
I will set up the party for you. I only ask that the other tables and chairs be ready when I arrive.I need access to a sink for set up and clean up. I need about 30 minutes to set up for about 7-10 people. (There can be more if your space allows, but that is an estimation) Each painting will take approximately 3 hours to complete (including 1-2 breaks). I will also need about 30 minutes to clean up totaling 4 hours for the party, prep and clean up. Also, I will gladly help situate your room to maximize the view of instruction for each of your guests. As far as the choices of paintings go, I do not have a large selection yet of finished paintings to choose from, but I am willing to customize or use any ideas you might have. My friend JoAnne had a December party, so I made a winter scene for her. If you want a floral picture, I can come up with something with that theme. I can do some version of the classics, such as VanGogh's Starry Night or a colorful version of the LOVE panting by Robert Indiana. The possibilities are endless.
I will patiently instruct you and your guests step by step to creating your very own work of art. No need to worry about having artistic ability or painting experience. This 'class' is for anyone and everyone.
Lastly, this type of party is not limited to a girls night out. It is a great option for a children's birthday party (7 and older recommended), Teen parties, Couples night, Mother/Daughter event, Random social gathering...really, there are no rules. Just painting. :)

My name is Kellie Washington. I am a school bus driver for Albemarle County Public schools. My husband and I own a local Cville restaurant, Vocelli Pizza. I have two children and a crazy husky named Daisy. I went to school to be an art teacher, but life got in the way a little. :) I am very excited to start on this new venture and hope to bring the experience of learning to paint to many new people.
