Pajaro Valley Arts Council Office & Gallery 37 Sudden Street Watsonville, CA 95076 (831) 722-3062 Gallery Hours: Thursday-Sunday 11am-4pm
PVAC opened the Pajaro Valley Gallery in 1986 and presents rotating visual art exhibitions in the gallery and satellite locations, such as the current "Sculpture IS" exhibits at both the gallery and Sierra Azul Nursery. We also work collaboratively with other museums and galleries, such as the recent "Assemblage + Collage + Construction" series which featured our "This House That I Call Home" show, organized by the Museum of Art & History in Santa Cruz.
Two annual exhibits highlight the schedule: our "Collective Membership Show" and "Mi Casa Es Tu Casa" — showcasing Latino art and culture. We also support and encourage performing events in other venues in the region and encourage all art forms and connecting the community to artists and their work. PVAC maintains on-going relationships with the regional arts community through membership in the Associates of the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County, the Art and Education ad hoc consortium now forming, the Viernes Cultural Collective, and other local cultural organizations.
We also enjoy a mutually supportive relationship with the City of Watsonville, owners of our historic Victorian building location and regular grantor to our organization. To reach local school children and youth, we partner with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, local parochial and private schools, as well as the city and county departments of Parks and Recreation, and the YWCA/YMCA, our next-door neighbors. We invite community members to volunteer with us as members, gallery hosts, and many other helpful capacities.
