The nurses in the office or whatever they call themselves are extremely rude! I’d say that they must HATE their job. Never have EVER experienced such rudeness. Phone etiquette? Terrible. Dr. Pakzaban is not much better. I had my surgery March 2nd. I never saw Dr. Pakzaban prior to the surgery….nor after…even spending the night in the Hospital. For real? 2 months later, I’m experiencing the same pain prior to my surgery. Tried to make an appointment because he’d see me in 6 months. No! I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this surgery. I believe that I should be able to get an appointment that I’m paying for…..??? Nope! A phone call. Just to tell me that he’d prescribe some nerve medication. I’m not a pill taker.. like to get to the bottom of the source. Oh! So? His response was to get in touch with my PCP for a neurologist. Wow. I went to say thank you &hung up on me!
I say the truth and nothing but the truth. I was suffering from neck pain for the past 6 weeks. Two weeks back, while turning on the high hung TV in my firnstore rotunda, I raised up my left hand, high to reach the switch and suddenly experienced acute vertigo, semi collapsing but luckily held in time by my coworkers who immediately reported to the management so I was taken to the breakroom and sent home by Uber, not risking an accident. Last Friday my family doctor ordered MRI for my neck and this Monday when he saw the report, sent me to emergency where I was seen by Dr. Pakzaban. The analysis was brief, well explained and immediate action was taken. Yesterday morning I went through an hour of surgery where the bones were repaired and induced, opening the channel which was causing this excruciating pain. He explained the total process to me and my family with transparency and to such a satisfaction that all thoughts of "" taking a second opinion" dwindled. A written post care agenda, next week appointment and follow up already in place and I am home. This is my experience.
We first met Dr. Pakzaban in 1996 when my mother had a brain aneurysm. He was 6 months in practice and saved her life. In 2001 I had a malignant brain tumor, which he removed with ease and 22 years later I’m still here to talk about it. As long as Dr. Pakzaban is in practice no one else will touch my brain, neck, or spine.
I wish I could say I got to see the dr. but it seems his assistant was too busy trying to diagnose me herself and not have me as a patient. How can you diagnose someone without seeing them? Sorry but I was referred to you office and to be told by your assistant without being seen, that I need to get more imaging before I can set an appointment is not acceptable. I have a referral from another doctor they just dismissed all together. I was hoping I could find someone that could help me with my chronic back pain.
One year ago, I was preparing for my lumbar laminotomy, medial facetectomy and microsurgical discectomy to stop the pain I had been dealing with over the past two months. I was, and still am, so thankful for Dr. Pakzaban and his staff. He said he could fix the problem and he did. #painfreeandlovingit #praisingGod
Dr. Pakzaban quickly and almost entirely painlessly restored my quality of life to what it was before I injured myself. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for him. I was referred to Dr. Pakzaban for left arm radiculopathy from a severely herniated cervical C6/C7 disc. After I submitted my MRI images, he quickly scheduled a consultation with me for the next day. During the consultation, he performed a thorough physical examination to confirm the diagnosis from the MRI results. After that, he reviewed my MRI images with me and recommended me to get C6/C7 Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion ACDF surgery. He told me everything to expect for the procedure, and I left the consultation feeling excited to get started on the road to recovery. The surgery went exactly as I was told it would, and I was home the next day. Post-op, the pain was minimal, and I was able to go back to work after only 3 days. I am now completely pain free and in the process of working through physical therapy to get the strength in my left arm back completely.
After years of pain on my left side of the face and going to different doctors I was finally recommended to Dr Pakzaban. The first time I met with him he explained to me the procedure and what to expect. Very professional way of explaining and making you feel comfortable as well as the staff in his office. The day of the surgery when I woke up I was amazed by how I was treated, kinda spoiled me if I may say. Over all I am very happy with the surgery and professionalism of Dr Pakzaban and staff. Dr. Pakzaban is extremely competent. I was so afraid nothing could help my pain. He explained my condition so I felt more comfortable with having surgery. I asked around about him before I made my appointment and heard nothing but good reviews. He worked on my neck and 30 days after my surgery I am out of the neck brace and pain free. I would definitely recommend Dr. Pakzaban to anyone needing neck or back surgery. He is brilliant. Pasadena is very blessed to have this doctor caring for us. I personally thank God for guiding me to Dr. Pakzaban.
Overall, I had a good experience and great results. I had a herniated disk in my cervical spine pinching off nerves and causing extreme pain, weakness, and numbness in my left arm. Saw the doctor, had surgery one week later, then four weeks' recovery time -- and all's great. Dr. Pakzaban doesn't pull any punches. He's direct, matter of fact, no frills -- which I appreciate. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating is because of the rudeness of his assistant, Emily. I had two phone conversations with her, and both were quite unpleasant. I'd characterize her language and attitude as snippy, rude, condescending, and bothered.
I had neck spine surgery. Dr Pakzaban explained in detail. The Operation went smooth, I need not have to take even one pain med, I am back at work on day 7. In OR, when 6 people were attending to me while I was shivering due to cold temperatures Dr P got up and brought me a warm blanket!
