My Aunt has been a patient here. Every time I go and visit her she is in soiled diapers. The nursing staff is rude. It takes them forever to answer the call light, but you can always find them at the desk chatting and eating and drinking. Don’t bring your families here. This place is the worst!!
This place is awful. The nursing staff is incompetent and can’t see if a patient is having chest pain or any neurological changes. They only noticed after the patient was on the floor. Complaining to managers does nothing to address the issues. Patients are left in their own urine for hours and hours. Staff don’t answer the call bells in a timely manner. There is a reason this place is a one star nursing home. Take your family member and transfer to another facility as soon as possible.
Every time they see me on a new agency app they complain to management to black list me and I don't even know why. This is not a problem I've ever had before but ironically landed me my dream job in Orlando.
The facility was clean and well decorated. However the staff is a different story. No matter how much I met with DON, admissions and the man in charge nothing changed. My loved one left one facility, on specific meds and those meds were NOT continued once he arrived here. I even took my loved one to the doctor why under their care and his doctor said he needed to be on the same medicine. Still he was not put on it. He passed twelve days after he arrived.
I can't speak for long term section, but short term side Therapists and Nurses especially during the day are great, God help you if your loved one spends the night in this facility. Ring call button and forever for response just for basic urination assistance. My loved one went in her bed as did her roommate. An annoying alarm kept going off while we in common area, later find is patients call buttons being ignored! Staff Sophie yelled at patient for going in bed, just wrong. We got our relative out of there as fast as possible. Kind of sad as day crew was great. We had to setup recording devices to confirm as they do not allow relatives in overnight due to semi private rooms. Find a private room facility with overnight visitors allowed, certainly not this place. Some very bad folks at night, in part like all care homes including nearby hospital staff shortages, especially on weekends. Stay away from this place if you love your family.
Just got my wife here, not sure yet if I am going to keep her here. Have to say it's nice and clean Rang call, for help, took over 20 minutes for help Not Happy, looked at reviews, not Happy. Give it another day or two. Had a talk with Administrator and Director of Nursing, they have their hands full. Understood my concern and will take measures to correct problems, give them a chance. Will follow up on this post. Out of here, this is not for Rehab
Times have changed. Rating: 5/5 Have you ever wondered where the hidden gems are in Palatka, Florida? Well, here is one. Look no further than Palatka Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. This is a review of what I've found there. It's a large facility, and although the building itself may bear the marks of time, it is well taken care of. What sets this one apart is the staff's dedication and unwavering care. Upon entering Palatka Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interim administrator, Donna Cortes, exemplifies true leadership and a genuine passion for the residents, their families, and the dedicated staff. Her mantra of "Firm, Fair, and Consistent" is evident in every interaction, ensuring a high standard of care and professionalism. What truly sets Palatka Center apart is the staff's unwavering commitment to their residents. It is abundantly clear that they are not simply there for a paycheck but are driven by a deep sense of purpose and compassion. The level of care provided is unparalleled, with each resident receiving individualized attention and support tailored to their unique needs. Rehabilitation and Healing is part of their name, and that is exactly what you will find there. With the well-trained and highly skilled staff. Their expertise shines through in the way they handle every situation with grace and dignity. The dedicated team members consistently go above and beyond, creating an environment where residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Palatka Center's commitment to continuous improvement is also noteworthy. Despite the building's age, plans for renovation are underway, which demonstrates the management's dedication to providing an exceptional living space for their residents. This commitment to enhancing the physical environment ensures that the facility will continue to evolve and improve, providing an even better experience for future residents. Whether you are a concerned family member seeking the best care for your loved one or an individual searching for a fulfilling career in the healthcare industry, Palatka Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is the place to be. The staff's dedication, combined with the leadership of interim administrator Donna Cortes, sets this facility apart from the rest. Here, your loved one will receive unparalleled care, and as a staff member, you will find fulfillment and purpose in making a difference in the lives of others. I wholeheartedly recommend Palatka Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. The dedication and care exhibited by the staff, coupled with the interim administrator's unwavering commitment, create an environment where residents thrive, families find solace, and employees discover a true sense of purpose. Trust your loved one's well-being to the capable hands of the staff at Palatka Center, and witness the transformative power of compassionate care. I will be honest and let you know I'm a little biased. For the past 14 years I've been following this interim nursing home administrator around. I've seen first hand the impact she's made in people lives and I have always been amazed and sometimes envious throughout the years of her leadership ability and how compassionate she is for the elderly. Not just at work, it can be anywhere. She is often the first to lend a helping hand, to patiently listen to, or offer a hug whether its someone she comes a cross in a store or an elderly neighbor. She is everything you would hope for in a person that's charged with the care of loved ones. I know no other who is more dedicated to her residents, their families, and her staff. Yes, I'm proud that she's my wife.
My Aunt is currently in this facility. She actually had a CNA eat her food she had delivered through Door dash last night. Who does that? They aren't taking be BP or BS like they should. Her sugars change rapidly and have to be monitored. The nurse actually gave her a shot of insulin after she tested out at 91. She claimed an earlier nurse logged her in at 301 after she gave her juice. No one ever gave her juice nor did they ever take her sugar before the shot so now her sugar is down to 60. Do Not stay here.
This place does not care about their patients. The rehabilitation center was recommended to us by the hospital staff, although since then we've heard nothing but horror stories. We spoke to a relative one day that was admitted to this center, who explained he was having a hard time breathing and needed an ambulance. We called the staff, they said they would handle it, we asked how and if they'd be calling 911. They hung up on us. We had to call 911 on his behalf and he was escorted by paramedics from Solaris to the hospital. They never made the call. Do not put your loved ones health in this facilities hands.
There has been a lot of positive changes recently. I see alot of good going forward.
