The ladies working there are always so helpful. They will assist you with anything you need. The library does look a little plain needs color or maybe new furniture. A few paintings, posters, or celebrities promoting reading would brighten up the place. I enjoy this library and I’m glad it’s open in the summer for kids and adults.
Super nice librarians especially Ms Dominiqueand we also like the park outside.
Super nice employees and librarians and there is even a little park outside but I wish that they had more books and a wider selection. It’s a small location though so I understand but I hope they can expand in the future.
I booked a study room for 4 hours and my partner booked it for a extra 2-3 hours since we had a lot of work to get done . We weren’t aware this wasn’t allowed since we were two different people booking it and have never been given a problem at the other McAllen libraries about it . When apologizing kindly for our mistake to a lady who worked there she gave us attitude and kicked us out. I do not understand what the issue was if the library was empty , no one was looking to use the study room , and she had already let us be there . Why did she decided to kick us out 30 minutes before if no one was going to use the study room ? Other than that experience it’s a beautiful library and very clean with the good precautions with this whole pandemic situation .
I like librarians who can communicate with me because I am deaf. They are so friendly people.
Several activities for kids and teenagers during the weekend. There are two study rooms. In order to use the computers, you need to have an account with the McAllen public library system. They also have a tv playing cartoons in the kids area, but the volume may be too high when reading to your kids. It also gets cold inside during the evening, so bring a sweater.
The facility is very good but the employees are making a lot of noise. They are talking a lot each other. It hinders my study.
Good sized library staffed with excellent people. Great for browsing books during long lunches.
Located inside the community center is this small, local library. Typically quiet with a modest selection.
Very friendly and knowable. Enjoy the lunch!!
