They’re in the process of getting ready to move to a new building so only the first floor was open. They had a small section with info about the new museum which will be opening in 2024. They have a fairly nice-sized coat room with free lockers. Admission is also free. Parking is in one of the paid garages within a few minutes’ walk. It was $1 for the first hour.
Absolutely amazing art gallery! Staff are super kind, building is very pleasant to be in, and art is incredible.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$1–5
It is not the largest campus art museum there is, but it certainly has some quality. A good range of pieces from sculpture, glasswork and pottery, and a vast array of paintings they range from 1500s to present. There is no admission charge; donations are always welcome. I was quite pleased and surprised to find some of the works here, such as ones by Thomas Hart Benton and Edwin Church, whose works of America always bring a smile to my face. There are rotating displays, and the current one is on American paintings from the collection. Also, this place gets wicked icicles when the conditions are right. Soon, it will be moving across the street to the arboretum where it will have more space for works and such. I think it is certainly worth a visit if a Penn State student or in town for whatever reason, cheers.
Great compilation of different styles of art. If you are into art and visit Penn State you gotta check this place out for sureVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes

This is a great museum!! All of the art is amazing and admission is free! The photography gallery in particular is stunning, with a few Warhols and many other great photos. There are also a lot of older paintings from the 1600s-1700s that are beautiful, and the modern gallery is really fascinating and makes you think. Overall, a lovely museum!!
Small museum, but very nice collection. Very cool building as well. Pottery and glass exhibits were amazing for a museum of this size. Second floor was closed as the museum will be moving soon, but definitely worth a visit while on campus.Wait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

Incredible exhibits, very friendly staff, and not at all expensive admission. Highly recommend if you’re in the area
After 16 years of living in Central PA this was my first trip the Palmer. I was only able to stay long enough to see the first floor this visit, but I enjoyed a variety of paintings and glass collection, including pieces from the amazing Chihuly. Admission is free. It was not crowded. Really lovely!
