Lovely spot downtown Palo Alto that’s quiet and romantic. Smaller than other libraries but there are all different corners that you can read and work and chill outdoors.
It is a small place, but cozy enough to study and read. People are very kind there. Be careful sometimes ugly people come but you can still be there.
Love this library. I come here pretty often. Anytime I’m in town.
Peaceful and quiet. Albeit small, but it's in downtown Palo Alto so that's understandable.
This library is hidden behind the police station on Forest and Channing, and has several great outdoor study spots. They offer free wi-fi, available computers/printing if you have a library card, and 2 nice patios with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. Their parking lot is tiny 20 cars and pretty much everything around there is 2hr parking, but otherwise it's a good place to get away from campus for a change of scenery. Plus, if you get bored you can always walk to University for food or a change of venue.
Recently, I was informed about the New York Times digital access as provided by the Palo Alto library, and I wanted to commend the team for making this content available to patrons. In my opinion, this is a great way to invest public funds and contribute to a free press which has proven to be critical in recent years. My hope is that more municipalities will follow course and see the benefit of such online resources. Besides the digital content, my main feedback for the Palo Alto downtown library is to consider opening the branch on Sundays similar to most libraries in the Santa Clara County system.
Quiet, not crowded Limited collection of books but a good place to study
Has a bathroom when open
Expanded hours as of Jun 2013 probably because it's the only one open. This library is Substandard. The kiddy day car section is 20 % of the main area but the noise from it covers 100% of the area.
The front desk staff was super friendly. I got hoopla audio book access via the library!
