Came into town to help provide dental services to the underserved community. After work I decided to meet some townfolk. So I found a place with a pool table, went and had a good time with them. Over 5 hours I had 2 beers. When I left, as I was driving back to hotel I got pulled over for doing 42 in a 40. I was asked if I had anything to drink. I had no issues with admitting that because I’m used to people using common sense. Not the Pampa police. I was asked to exit my vehicle. The officer then removed my eyeglasses and had me perform tests using my limited vision. When I requested to take a breathalyzer I was refused one on site. I was handcuffed and taken to jail. When they brought up the breathalyzer there, I asked them if I passed it could I go, they said no, that I would be staying in jail even if I tested unintoxicated. So, with that, I refused. After they brought in a tatted up guy who looked like he couldn’t make it onto the Dallas swat team to try and coerce me into taking the test, I obviously still refused. I spent the next 15 hours in jail, sober. The degrees these guys will go to, in order to make money and knowing they have power unchecked is absolutely asinine. DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE IF YOU ARE NOT A LOCAL
They are very professional, and attempt to protect the town. They come out quickly when called, and help out in any way they can. The officers seem to all be kind and helpful. thank you Pampa PD
The police are not good people. They ambush travellers to make their money. The officers don't believe in their own actions and don't deserve the power to ruin lives.
Pampa police have gotten caught on making it difficult for anyone I came into town and got pull over for 25 feet of signal light got a ticket for it. I was like wow we got more things to worry about in the world.
I have been with some one to visit I stay out doors it was a long ride
Most of the police officers are friendly.
Sorry excuse of the law.
