Papa's American Cafe

We enjoy both dining in and getting carry out here. I appreciate that the menu has gluten free items clearly marked. Their gluten free hamburger buns are top notch! Note: If you are gluten intolerant/sensitive and order a burger with a salad you will need to specifically specify "no croutons" on your salad, and if getting a gluten free kids hamburger/ cheeseburger meal, specify "no cookie".

My friend and I popped in after a movie and just wanted to sit down and order right away. There was no wait it was early afternoon and she was prompt and she was in good spirits. We enjoyed the laughter at the other table and we also enjoyed watching the screens as the football game was on. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my meal. I've been to Papa's before and have always had good food. Doug runs a very nice restaurant with good help and good food.

Food was awesome! Service was great, even with a full restaurant! Atmosphere was fine! The restaurant could have been a little warmer, but other than that it was great!Food: 5/5

The Philly Steak Sandwich is nasty! Had to take what they called “Prime Rib off the bun and cut up. Was next to impossible to cut with a steak knife. Could not even chew this meat. This was the second try at this place. I’ve endured a lot of military and hospital food this place rates well below for food!

Good lunch stop. I was seated promptly and the waitress took my drink order. The main waitress was very nice and friendly. She recommend several options for what locals eat and I picked the French dip. Food came hot and ready to eat. The sandwich was very good and I highly recommend it. The stop was good and I would recommend a visit and this sandwich.

Food was good. The service was subpar, while I know that the service is slow due to short staffing, there were people who ordered after my table that got their food before we did and we had to ASK TWICE for our first and only drink refill edit and we finally asked ANOTHER server for a couple boxes and the bill.

We went on a Saturday around 6pm. They sat us in the back by the projection screen because we had 8 people so it was kind of dark due to the projector I'm guessing. It wasn't overly loud in there but it seemed like it was hard to hear your own conversation like everything was echoing, which was kind of annoying, but expected on a Saturday night. They had a lot of TVs with different games on including the Hawkeyes game on the projection screen. The food was ok, they had big portions and the service was good also. Kid-friendliness: We had our 13yo with us and she was fine with it. Parking: Parking is kind of awkward here since it's right next to the prime and wives parking it gets kind of confusing.

Working out of town for a month. This was are 3-4 nights a week, supper spot. Excellent food, wide variety for a menu. Very well managed time for your orders as well. The wait staff being the best part! Our personal favorite, maddy. Deserves 10 stars! Miss that kind of hospitality and service. Highly recommend!

They have good food u definitely don't walk away hungry u get good size portion and it's a nice cozy place plus everyone is friendly
