We were pleasantly surprised. We were leery about coming here after the owner change because I had seen some bad reviews, but we decided to risk it. My husband and I ate outside. The waitresses were friendly, polite, and attentive. They both greeted customers by name. The food was great and creative - offering pumpkin pancakes and having a salmon eggs Benedict for example. We'll definitely be back soon.
Whatever you do, do NOT go to  Kristina's Cafe. New owners, new menu. Besides the fact the menu is crazy expensive. Last weekend they served my children under cooked pancakes. Like really undercooked. They recooked them and burned them. It was like the cook did it on purpose cause we complained. The potatoes in my skillet were almost raw. We told the mangers and what was his solution... take 20% off my meal; not even the entire bill. Are you kidding me! I am actually thinking of calling the health department because they didnt even seem to care about serving my kids undercooked food. The ONLY good part about this place is Denise the waitress. She was super nice!
I brought one of my sons with me and neither one of us was impressed. The restaurant wasn't busy but the service was still slow and inattentive. The food was cooked well enough but didn't have much flavor. The table was in need of a good scrubbing and the water cup, well I didn't drink out of it.
We ordered a couple frappe and some food through grubhub. The food showed up but the 9 dollar frappes did not. We called them and they said they would re send them out. It's been 50 minutes and a phone call with an apathetic manager and still waiting on the probably melted frappes. The food is already eaten and im down 9 bucks. The kitchen does great work but the customer service needs a complete overhaul. Thanks so much miss manager for the classic: not my problem attitude.
Stopped by for the first time on a Sunday after the lunch rush, it was almost 1 and there were more staff than customers. Immediately we're seated and had glasses of water brought out without asking which was great...And that's where it stopped. Was 10 minutes until the waiter finally arrived after I think the entire staff had walked by three times as we sat with menus on the table. Sounded like they were training the waiter based on other conversation but it was an absurd wait for a place that was almost as dead as the historic cemetery two blocks south. Food arrived in record time6:52...Yes I timed it and was so so...Monte Cristo sammich and a breakfast quesodilla were good, but nothing to rave about. The cashier apologized to us and the couple in front of us who had lackluster service as we paid, but wasn't a great first trip at all. We will probably try it again, but unless we are blown away won't return...Lots of other options close by to fill the breakfast/lunch options that are excellent and don't disappoint for the same or less money.
Great food, the name is now Paradise Café! It's the same menu just different name. The food is delicious, especially the crepes and the skillets. They have an outdoor area where you can eat and enjoy the weather as well! On mother's day they handed out roses to every mother that came in which was awesome to watch!
Bad, bad, bad. Three televisions blaring three different channels. I think the guy who took my order also cooked the dog food I was served. Ordered country-fried steak and eggs and am now praying I don’t get sick. Avoid this place like the plague.
Excellent Food, Excellent Service, i never felt more welcome and taken care of in a restaurant. A busy sunday afternoon, we walked in and were seated asap. friendly & gracious hostess. When we drive up to milwaukee to visit family, it's out of our way but well worth the time spent
Very Very Poor Management I brought my service Dog in on August 13th 2017 at noon the manager told me and my friend that my service Dog was Not allowed and the Idiot Manager has a big Ego. I have reported him to several organizations Dupage Health Department, Downers Grove Business, Etc.. I will Never go in this Place again
Awful restraunt. The food was not as fresh as i thought. The food took very long to come to the table. I felt bloated after eating here. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
