It's been over 25yrs since I've been back to this park. It definitely does not look like the way I remember. The water was extremely low this time that there was only a small section for all the visitors to swim in. It was a bit depressing, but that's nature. Besides that, the restrooms were kept clean, and the park was overall clean. It's a good place for picnics, though. Come check them out for yourself.
This place has been my family's "go to" for years. The growth of our city or alleged "drought" has made Paradise Canyon unrecognizable. I was extremely sad so see the this hidden gem empty today. I pray the heavens open the gates and water refills the canyon once again. I took my family and turned around after I saw the dried up areas. I didn't ask for a refund because i love this place too much. They can't control the water. Paradise Canyon is gonna have a rough summer if water doesn't start flowing.
There's no more river it's just a small little lake swimming hole but we had so much fun. We got to make a whole bunch of new memories & we still had an awesome time. I just pray that it rains so next summer we could see a river there cuz I love going to Paradise Canyon. Everyone there is so nice, I had already paid upfront online & I had to reschedule 2xs, they were so sweet and understanding. They gave me no problems We were able to reschedule without losing our money because they don't do refunds but you can even reschedule for next year. I thought that was pretty awesome of them. We had a great time.
06/29/2023 No water! Don't go if your looking to swim or fish. The two " ponds" they have are super green! Totally opposite of last year! Sad that I didn't read the reviews before going. Awesome place!!! Went on Wednesday and wasn't packed. Had plenty of table options. A lot of them near the water which I loved. Water depth varies but has a lot of shallow places for kids. Water is clear and cold. Price was $45 per car load. Restrooms and changing area was clean. They have rafts for rent and life jackets. Fyi no phone signal which I think is great. This will be the families go to place from now.
Paid for two carloads only to waste our gas to get there and bone dry. Just a small watering hole that was stagnant. Received a rain check for next year but time and gas wasted. What upsets me is that I called just the day before to change my reservation near the water and not once did she mention the conditions. That’s a poor way to do business.
Due to the drought, there is very little water.Thete is one area that is spring feed from the Edwards Aquifer. The people there are very friendly. The gentleman that's home for college break is so helpful. He is such a kind young man.
So sad i used to come here as a child and i remember a place out of a fairy tales book. It almost brings me to tears typing this. I remember a place where the water was so clear and so BLUE you could almost drink the water! The water used to be soooo cold & much more deep. Which leads me to believe the spring inst pumping as much water as it used to. I remember how amazing it felt to scale those huge rocks and look down into the 8ft plus deep water and see all the way to the bottom. This is not "just a drought" there's a reason this is happening. We all neglected the land so bad we lost our privileges as a collective. All the cars fumes. oils and chemicals and the trash & to the people who come to drink and grill instead of enjoy nature, leaving trash behind & little to no respect for the land allowing filth to leach into a river, a water source for plants animals and us. No one should have ownership or have to pay to destroy nature.
Beautiful family friendly fun. Water levels are low right now but it was still wonderful
Had an amazing weekend, this is a beautiful camp ground. The staff were very kind and helpful especially Mason! I only had 1 issue...too much dust/dirt flying around from everyone driving like they're still on the street. If they can figure out a way to cut that down our out then this place would be perfect. Edit*** This place is amazing! Benny and the owners made my upcoming trip with my granddaughters possible! They truly went above and beyond! If they had a membership I'd invest today!
We stayed two nights with our motorhome over the fourth of July and had a fabulous experience! The drive in is narrow and a bit nerve-wracking in a big rig. I would try to avoid coming in between 5 and 7 when all the day visitors are leaving. Although the campground is open to day visitors, making sunny days a bit busy, the mile of river access allows swimmers to spread out leaving plenty of room for everyone. And if you're hoping for a quiet swim, the day visitors are asked to leave around dinner so evenings are beautiful and quiet. Bring or rent tubes and for a stress-free float, buy an anchor and rope! They have several ways to enjoy the campground, including tent and RV sites, small cabins, trailers for rent, and large cabins. There are bathrooms and showers available, firewood for purchase, and a small general store. No laundry is available on site at this time. Whether you go for the day or short stay, it's definitely worth a visit.
