My family and I stayed at Paradise Pier from 1/1/23 to 1/6/23 and it was no where near worth the amount we spent to stay there. First problem we had was the room not being ready by check in time. We were tired from the drive to Anaheim and wanted to be able to rest instead we had no choice but to sit around and wait for over an hour and half waiting for our room to be ready past the 3pm check in time. Once it was ready we finally got in to find that the sinks and bathtub drains in one of the bathrooms didn't drain. The cast members were quick and efficient on getting that corrected. Then came the problem with the elevators. I spent well over 2+ hours during our stay waiting on elevators. With no option to use stairs to get to our rooms we were forced to wait. It got to the point where our children were even scared to get into the elevators because of all the issues with them. The experience we had with the hotel itself was bad and not worth it. I would never again want to spend over double a good neighbor hotel for the experience we had it wasn't worth the shorter walk. All that being said the cast members did their best to accommodate us and were very polite. But this hotel should not be open during renovations, or they need to figure out a way to actually be able to handle the amount of people they book. If I was to do this over again I would have went with a good neighbor hotel or spent the extra money to stay at Disneyland Hotel.
Even though it's currently under construction I was impressed with the effort they are making to accommodate guests. Clean room. Lucky enough to have a wonderful view. Friendly and helpful staff. Everyone lived up to the Disney service and reputation that you expect. Would stay and or recommend to anyone. Only reason not 5 stars is due to construction. Currently no restaurant but has other means/ construction, make shift lobby construction and no entertaining area construction I cannot wait to see what the new place looks like.
We stayed at Paradise Pier for four nights and enjoyed our stay immensely! The staff was super friendly and helpful with navigating not only the hotel but the surrounding area! The check-in process was easy, but I definitely recommend checking in on the Disneyland app ahead of time so your room is ready. The only issues we experienced were heavy wait times on the elevator around 7am as everyone tried to leave for the parks, and the beds were awfully uncomfortable. We got a great deal on the room with a Costco package so it was very much worth it!
Overall not a bad place to stay. The hotel was under renovation during our stay, so a lot of services were not available. I will say that their elevator system is awful. For 15 floors, three elevators is simply not enough. I had to "hack" their floor selection system and overload it with requests to try and get at least one elevator to show up at any given time. I heard from some guests that they waited upwards of 20 minutes for one to show up. That is just absurd. Finally, Disney is making millions of dollars on a daily basis from ticket sales, food sales, shop sales etc. The least they could do is make simple repairs in their facilities. I saw signs of damage all over the place. Nothing major, but still. A lot of cash flowing in, and not much being spent on upkeep. The room we had was a "premium" room but you could easily see that the furniture was old and very worn, paint needed refreshing, the shower definitely needed a new valve control.... Again all minor things, but given the sheer amount of money Disney is making on absurd ticket prices, they could expend some money on upkeep.
We wish we would have know just how much this building was under renovation. In my opinion, there should have been a major price adjustment staying for staying here with all the things that were not available. This was the first time at Disney for my daughters. Not being able to wake up and have breakfast at the hotel was super inconvenient. Yes they have a "snack" room with vending machines, but that's not what we would ever expect paying 4k for an all inclusive vacation spot. Renovations are absolutely needed here, as the room had moisture damage in the windows and the walls. The elevators are not all operating, so you may find yourself walking down 9 flights of stairs with sore feet from walking the parks in the morning. The pillows are so old, that they are nothing but clumped together balls under the pillow case. The mattresses are on their last legs, and any time you flip to the other side, you will hear them squeaking. I do have to say that the staff was super nice. The people tending to our rooms were sweet enough to set up my daughters stuffy to look like it was playing her Kindle on her bed while we were away at the parks, which she loved! The reception desk were very helpful as well. It simply wasn't worth the money - and next time, there are neighboring hotels that will be staying at instead for MUCH less, and with just as close access to the parks. Overall we loved our trip, but the price for accomodations just did not match up.....
The staff here is so incredible! We had such amazing guest service at this hotel. I know they're undergoing construction, but it didn't impact our stay at all. Our room was very clean, and a review of the park was phenomenal! Marian and Adam at the front desk were the bee's knees! They made our stay remarkable. The walk to Disney was short and the walk to California Adventure was even shorter.
Okay I’m going to give you 3 big reasons to just pay extra and go with the Disney hotel. 1. Very professional workers that go the extra mile to make your stay amazing! They went above and beyond to get us in before our checkin time. 2. The rooms are amazing. So clean with great soap and lotion smells. You can’t beat the magical feeling. 3. It’s so close to the parks. Our room we could actually look out and see the park! It saves time to get into the park earlier when you’re in the hotel and going back to your room for a nap is great. I don’t regret paying for this hotel. And I’m usually a stickler with things like this.
We went when the Paradise Pier was under major construction, and I was annoyed that they didn't tell us this when we booked our room. But our experience was still mostly positive. Our room was more spacious and had a better view of California Adventure than I anticipated. Unfortunately housekeeping accidentally threw away some of our food and when I approached the front desk about it they said they would follow up but they never did. Otherwise, they took good care of us and it was a positive experience.
The rooms here were very big! We had a view of the pool, but it was under construction. There was a lot of renovation going on while we were there, but the noise level was not as bad as I thought it would be. The elevator situation got a little hairy when the parks let out and when they first open. Everyone trying to get out or back to their rooms at once was a mess. The service at Disney is always so good that it makes your stay enjoyable. I can't wait for the remodel to be done so I can visit this hotel again. It will be amazing. Walkability: Very close to California Adventure and Disneyland.
I reeeeally wanted to like this hotel but: - Location is further away than some non-disney hotels. - Elevators are terrible they have 3 but they take forever, especially because there are so many guests. - Our door was hard to close and we came back from Disneyland one day and the cleaning staff had not closed the door all the way so it was unlocked I DID like that they had a small 24 hr. food shop in the hotel. I DID like that the hotel was quiet at night. I DID like that the hotel kept our bags until midnight on the check out date so we could go to Disneyland without our bags, etc. Hopefully once the renovations happen some of the negative items above will be take care of but, regardless we will not be staying there again as we would rather pay half the price and walk the same distance to the park
