I had not been to this indoor pool until today. Very clean, huge women's changerooms and friendly staff. The pool itself is split into a Lane Swimming area and The Big Pool, where people can do other aquatic activities. There is also a sauna and pretty big hot tub. One of the nicest pools I've found in the Hamilton area with some of the best Lane Swimming in terms of scheduling. Finally, there is a very interesting slide, which would be great for kids. All in all a very well maintained community centre.
I take my son swimming here on Wednesday's and we always enjoy our swims. Front reception is always very cordial. Lifeguards are attentive and friendly. They have a warm, shallow pool that's good for children or anyone wanting to warm up. They also have a large pool with a shallow and deep end. Deep end has a diving board. The women's change room is consistently clean.
The complex was clean and had a very welcoming atmosphere. The library was very well organized and had a variety of different activities available including a 3d printer and childrens learning area. The pool area was nice having two pools available the main pool kept around 85 degrees and a smaller shallower pool kept around 92 degrees It was nice having the diving board available during family swim time. Unfortunately, as of this writing the slides aren't operational due to maintenance and its unclear if or when those will be addressed.
Last year I started going to Valley Park for the Warm Water Stretch Classes. I found the staff so nice. They were very kind, helpful and caring. These characteristics proved 100% the other day. I had a fall in the ladies shower area when my walker collapsed from under me. Within seconds of my fall there were several staff that came to my rescue. They checked me out for any injuries. They gently lifted me upwhich was a challenge in itself They helped me to the pool area, got me a chair and made sure I was ok again. I was already at the pool for the warm water stretch class so I decided to take part in the classwhich was really a good decision as it helped my body recover. After class they had a walker for me to use. When I was ready they escorted me to my car carrying my broken walker. The next day I received a phone call from staff to check up on me. Unfortunately I am terrible with names, but I just wanted to say a huge Thank You to them. Thank you for being so kind and caring. In the end of all this the only thing I hurt was my Pride. If you are looking for a community centre that cares about their members, Valley Park Community Centre is the place to be.
Fantastic staff. My son has special needs and the staff here bend over backwards for him which makes them one of the few places that makes it easy for us parents. It's just a pity they don't get the proper support from the inclusion coordinator who would rather ignore you than actually do their job. Special props to Robin and Miranda who is literally saving my son's life by teaching him how to swim. Her patience and enthusiasm is second to none. These are just two, but the entire staff need to be commended.
The pool is fun and well run. Lots of toys and floaty items for the kids. Make sure to bring a small combo lock for the lockers as there is no key or pay lockers.
Valley Park Community centre is amazing! The ladies at the front desk are helpful and really nice. It was my first time going there for my daughter tumble class, her two teacher are fantastic lots of games with the kids making sure kids feel comfortable. I walked around to see what else they have it’s a wonderful place swimming pool and other areas very clean.
Great place in general. Amazing utilities. The basketball court could be cleaned every once in a while. But the main problem is theft. You can not bring valuables here. $100 basketballs, car keys, phones, wallets have all been stolen.
I was very disappointed with the customer service I received today. We had just moved into the area and I was trying to register my kids for swimming lessons. After attempting to do it online with their system I decided to go in person and find out more information. The younger woman whom I spoke with came off rude and condescending when I asked her about how to navigate the online system she basically gave me sarcastic answers like I should know better. I left the place feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. The woman had zero to no customer service. Will not be returning to this place.
Lots changed here, had an interesting experience in the family room. Where 2 woman 50 plus I would say took of just their bottoms while I went to see if their was any other showers avaliable to use, their was 5 showers to use and as I walked by with my wife behind me at the lockers, is when they took the bottoms off with multiple signs saying to keep swimwear on while in showers.. made me really uncomfortable and my wife saw my face and I placed my towel and turned around back to wait in the cold locker room to wait for them to be done wasn't anything I wanted to see.... so be careful if you bring kids in there.
