WOW!!! There are very few restaurants that leave an amazing impression such as Park & Orchard. I arrived with a friend and did not have a reservation. Management was super excellent in taking care of us even though their regulars were also there -- guests who go the same day a week and sit at their table for years. From the strawberry and almond salad with fresh house dressing to the flavorful chicken sausage dinner... .wow. I have a seafood allergy and the staff was clear with their care of my dishes and the manager stopped by to make sure that all was well. It's all in *details* for me when I enjoy dinner. The portions were perfect, leaving just enough space for coffee and dessert. I shared that with my friend -- who does not particularly care of dessert or chocolate -- and we were both amazed at the freshness of the apple pie super yummy!!!. It is rare to see staff know dinner guests by their first name, ask about family members and be sincere and genuine when talking to them. This is a restaurant to visit but PLEASE make reservations because you may not be as fortunate as we were to be seated in this one-of-a-kind restaurant.
This is not in anyway like the Old Park and Orchard. We were seated right away. The wait staff was excellent. The air conditioner vent was over my husbands chair and the condensation was hitting him on the head he move to another chair. We ordered the meat balls they were the best dish of the night. I ordered a ginger ale that had a funky chlorine taste the ordered the full pasta mushrooms bolgenese dish. It was horrid. Could not wait to leave and make a sandwich at home. The wait staff asked if I enjoyed my meal said not really but did not take off or even suggest to see a manager. Will never return for seconds and hope they change the menu.
I've had dishes that i liked as well as those i didn't, but each time everything is well prepared and presented. I'm not going to blame the restaurant for my finicky taste buds, as some on here have. The atmosphere here is fun, but it can get extremely noisy when crowded, as it is essentially a dining room in a warehouse with shabby chic decor. The wine list, beer selection and drink list are all extensive with some great choices, regardless of your preference. My wife had my surprise 40th here and it was outstanding from every guests perspective.
Had a wonderful experience. The place is very cool and chic and I love the look of the open kitchen. I had the Crawfish Pasta as that is their signature dish and was blown away. The service could have been better but being it's newly opened, it wasn't bad. It's a bit pricey but what fine restaurant in this area isn't. It was definitely a unique dining experience and very welcomed from the same old.
We had a party for 24 to celebrate 2 anniversaries of out team members. The brunch was delicious. The service was efficient and friendly. Robin was very accommodating. I highly recommend the new P&O to all. Food service and atmosphere all 5 star.
Huge fan of the original park and orchard. I was very disappointed in my experience with the new ownership that is running this reowned establishment. The restaurant has been remodeled and looks amazing. The place now has a modern look and vibe to it. We were seated right away but could not order drinks or food until we got the attention of the host. At last we finally met our waiter. Shortly after placing our orders we realized that the Ac unit was leaking onto our table and us. We brought this to the attention of our waiter. He informed us that he had this problem before and it is getting fix tomorrow. The food took a long time and when our salmon did arrive it was under cook. We sent back one of the dishes to be cooked more. When it returned it was still under cooked. My friend decided to cancel his order. The manager came out to speak to us but was inscenere. Our waiter was more concerned with our dish and dinning experience than the manager. We asked for the check and the one main dish of salmon was removed from the bill. No problems with the final bill. This new establishment is using the name and fame of the former restaurant. The food and management is below the same quality. In short, this dinning experience was terrible. I recommend G.S ale house or Steve's Steaks if you are in this area.
My wife and I visited the "New" Park & Orchard May 27. The ambience is extremely very nice, but we had asked for a chenge in table due to the glaring light above our head, but all tables were all the same. We started with the biscuits, recommended by our server, that were very good. The appertizer of the PEI mussels were extremely delicious. If I knew the mussels would have been accompanied with very good bread, I would have passed on the biscuits. We tried the wings . They were passable. My big disappointment was Le Ruths Crawfish Pasta. I took the large portion, priced at $29.00. If that was the large portion, I wondered what the 1/2 portion would have been, that I believe was $17.00., just a dish of pasta? The pasta was fresh, the amount of crawfish in the dish were non existant. I told our server that the name Le Ruth's should be removed from the name as it was a far cry from the original recipe. My favorite dish just went down the drain. Loved the old recipe. Two of my wife;s favorites dishes were taken off the menu, another reason for our coming to Park and Orchard for probably 25 years. We had to try this "new" restaurant. The name should have been changed, as I am sure other patrons, like ourselves, will be disappointed for various reasons. With the old favorites changed or removed, may have to be back one more time to try the Tuna and the steaks, to see if those dishes are as good to justify the high prices.
Food is beyond exceptional. Tried seven different entrees and only the chicken parm was just good. The lasagna was not typical but it was fantastic. Didn't think I'd like the dessert, strawberry rhubarb cobbler but it was big enough for two and we left nothing. Soo good! Service was good too. Make your reservation now.
It is hard to tell if I like this restaurant or not. I was there maybe ten years ago and I went back today to try it again. 08-09-08 The service was good. The food was very good. I had the wheatless and dairy free lasgana. The meal was nicely seasoned and the sauce was very tasty. But, the issue for me, is the vibe of the place. I get a really odd feeling whenever I have been there. I just do not feel comfortable. I guess, it is the warehouse look and the "everyone is staring at me vibe" or, maybe it is built over an ancient burial ground. ? Food - 3 stars, Service - 3 stars and ambiance - zero stars.
HUGE disappointment! Decor is superb, everything else was so depressing for me. Why didn't they change the name? Their version of "Le Ruth's" is awful. No warm fresh bread at the table, no delicious soup or salad with entree. It's all ala carte, expensive and rather pedestrian. Or did they think that people in NJ wouldn't notice the difference between food prepared with love and food prepared to create profit margins? The bar menu is absolutely hysterical, with about six cocktails to choose from. So I went with margarita, the safest choice. We got two versions of margaritas over 3 drinks from two different bartenders preparing them. When we sent back the 2 bitter ones, the server simply said, "Oh, that's just the way he makes them." Interesting... that a bartender gets license here to destroy a mainstream beverage. I guess I just don't rate as a customer here...no worries, I won't be returning in this lifetime. Au revoir!
