Park Lane South, Forest Park
"Forest Park is a hilly and natural delight for Queens residents and visitors from across New York City. Park goers interested in exploring Forest Park's natural settings firsthand often travel to its eastern portion, which abounds in hiking trails and bridle paths. The western portion is an athlete's playground. Softball, baseball, tennis, bocce, handball, and golf are a few of your options when you wander through this portion of the park. Forest Park is also a frequent home of events and concerts found at the George Seuffert, Sr. Bandshell."

A dad of 2 young kids, and I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting places to take them. I was really impressed when I found this, The playground was clean, well-maintained, and had a lot of shade, which was perfect for a hot summer day. The kids had a blast playing on the playground. There were slides, swings, climbing structures, etc. In addition to being fun for kids, the playground was also a great place for parents to relax and socialize. There were plenty of benches and tables, and the playground was located in a quiet neighborhood next to Forest Park. Highly recommend this playground to any parent looking for a fun and safe place to take their kids. It's a great place to let kids run around and burn off some energy, and it's also a great place for parents to relax and socialize. Would definitely recommend this playground to any parent looking for a fun and safe place to take their kids. Playground: The playground is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of shade. The playground is located in a quiet neighborhood, making it a safe and peaceful place for kids to play.
Great place to escape the city and enjoy some fresh air. Perfect for biking or walking a dog. A 10 minute walk from the J and Z trains
Beautiful park that has a lot to offer for tourists, families, or anyone that wants to hang out there. It's great that it has a bandshell, a playground, and multiple courts for playing different sports. Playground: Since it's a large park, there are several playgrounds. Most are colorful, with sparse equipment such as slides, ladders and monkey bars. All are somewhat old and could use renovation or at least a fresh coat of paint. Dog-friendliness: I frequently see dogs in Forest Park and there are not many restrictions as to where they are allowed or not allowed to be. Picnic area: There are multiple picnic areas across the park, but they're not very organized and mostly consist of just picnic tables that are old and need to be replaced sparsely placed in a certain area.
Great park to walk or relax in. It's seriously a massive park with lots of trails to choose from and also has great spots for picnics and just spending time with family. There's also a carousel and a lot of vendors selling italian ice and frozen treats around the park. I imagine that the trees would look beautiful in the fall or after a it snows in the winter too. Forest Park is like the Central Park of Queens. Would definitely recommend coming here. It's close to public transportation too.
This park, is huge! Lots of walking trails, people jogging and dog walkers. Get in touch with nature! Love it to escape the madness from the city.
The park was created in 1895, however some of the trees are over 150 years old, it’s the tenth largest park in nyc, third largest in Queens, about 500 acres, rich in green & history, open all year, high quality air, this place makes for a fantastic outing/hike every time.
Beautiful park, trails are a little difficult to stay on if you don't know how to look for trail markers me lol but getting lost here is a little adventure in itself will visit again
One of the good park to drive and breathe some fresh air straight from the trees. I avoid this place on weekends as it tends to be crowded. It is a good place to hike for like an hour. I enjoy walking under the shades of these gigantic trees. The hike makes you feel good and lively. Recommended if you live within 5 miles radius.
very nice park, if you run, this is the place for you! - you can run on the asphalt, on the treadmill and on the trail. There is a lot of parking.
A nice park with forest like feel without any of the risks, as they have a tons of trails and it is always close to the road max half a mile. Allocate at least 1 hour for it as the closest subway station and bus stop can be over 30-40 minutes away at various parts of the forest. There were a few spooky things due to people not respecting the forest which makes you feel sad but also wonder why that and why there.
