These are just three of the reasons Dr. Minal Patel chose to open Park Place Smiles, her Family and Cosmetic Dentistry Practice in Glendora. A Southern California native, she grew up in Norwalk and witnessed the challenges and joys her father experienced operating his own neighborhood pharmacy in Long Beach for over 38 years. To pursue her dreams of a career in healthcare and helping others, she chose UCLA for her undergraduate education where she studied Psychobiology. From there she went on to New York University Dental School where she graduated in 2007. But she couldn't wait to get back to Southern California to begin her career in dentistry. For seven years, she associated herself with Dr. Parimal Kansagra, one of the most respected and well-known cosmetic dentists in the state. An implantologist, he specializes and teaches how to place implants and from him she learned and perfected her craft to the point where she was soon doing all the restorations - implants, crowns, bridges - in his office. For two of the seven years she worked with Dr. Kansagra, she was the managing dentist in his Anaheim Hills dental office. Then for two more years, she was the managing dentist in his Walnut office. From him, she developed a passion for cosmetic dentistry, helping to achieve for each patient the beautiful and healthy smile they had always dreamed . And to further her education, Dr. Patel has done significant coursework at the Las Vegas Institute which specializes in cosmetic dentistry and occlusion therapy.
