Parker Tie Co offers a full line of building supplies, tools, paint, hardware, plumbing, and electrical to fit you needs with a hometown feel.
Parker Tie Co was founded in 1935 by the late Gene Parker as an outlet for local mills to sale railroad ties. Mr Parker marketed these ties to the Norfolk and Western Railway. Later that year Mr Parker began to sell rough cut lumber for local construction of barns, and homes. In the years to follow Glen Graybeal, an employee of Parker Tie Co, acquired the business from Mr Parker and the business continued to grow with building materials. In 1939 Mr Graybeal opened Ashe Savings and Loan in the present day Parker Tie Co building to compliment the home construction industry. Rex Morton , an employee of Mr Graybeal, purchased the business and continued to grow and expand it. With the addition of a planer mill, to turn local saw mill lumber into dimension framing for home construction, and a wood shop to produce windows and doors, Mr Morton provided for many aspects of the construction industry right here at Parker Tie Co. . When Mr Morton reached retirement, two employees , Bill Brown and Earl Hardin, purchased the business . They continued to add products and services to enhance the home construction industry in Ashe and surrounding counties. In 1995 current owners, Rick and Terry Woodie, purchased Parker Tie Co. from Brown and Hardin. Keeping with tradition, Rick and Terry were also employees of Parker Tie Co. . Currently we continue to add building products, hardware, plumbing, and electrical supplies along with a Home Decor showroom to fit all of the homeowners needs. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers who have done business with us throughout the years, making it possible for us to remain a family owned, hometown hardware store!
