Parker University, through the Peer Tutoring Program, provides assistance to students seeking additional support outside the classroom. Students receive tutoring from their peers who have demonstrated high academic achievement in their courses. The program is managed by the Center for Teaching and Learning and it affords students with specific instructional needs the opportunity to obtain extra academic assistance at no cost.
Face-to-Face Tutoring: Students receive tutoring from their peers who have demonstrated high academic achievement in their courses. Tutoring sessions are either subject-specific or trimester-specific. The session offerings change from term to term, so check back on the MyParker page for the most current information.
Online Tutoring: Through Pearson's Smarthinking, students have 24/7 access to helpful modules and online tutoring, as well as an interactive writing center. This can be access through MyParker Learn (Blackboard).
Course-Specific Resources: Resources created for specific courses, such as vodcasts, mock exams, supplemental videos, and more.
General Learning Resources: Additional support for study strategies, free online resources, and access to resources paid for by Parker University.
Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI): This assessment helps students see areas of strength and opportunity for growth in regards to student strategies. The Center for Teaching and Learning can help with interpreting the results and suggesting accompanying modules for improvement.
