Parkview Inn Motel is an older motel, but our room was very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a laundry room close by ... there is one washer and one dryer, both $1.00 each. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast, so cannot comment on that. The only downside was that our room was backed up to the main road, and the road noise was loud and continued for most of the night. If you go, you might want to ask for a room that is not backed up to the highway. The road noise is the only reason we rated this motel a 4 instead of a 5. The owners were very nice and helpful.
Such a cute place ,very clean!!! Like the cleanest I've ever seen a hotel! The owners are so friendly and kind. They really care about their property! Small parking lot but accessible, they offer free breakfast but I didn't go down, slept in! Rooms: Very clean! Nearby activities: The Abbey was amazing
Arriving late in Cannon City my husband and I started looking for a low cost hotel. The Parkview Inn had excellent reviews so we chose to stay there. Don't let the outside deter you. This hotel is truly a gem! Very clean, updated room with the most comfy bed. If I could find a place like this on all my trips that would be perfect! There are no refrigerators in the rooms and a microwave available for use on property. We didn't need a fridge so that wasn't an issue with us. I would 100% recommend this hotel. Rooms: Cozy room with an extremely comfortable bed.
Stayed here a number of years ago while visiting friends in the Canon City area. Looked to be a nice, local, well-reviewed spot, so we gave it a shot. The location was great, and the service was sufficient. The room was pleasantly OK, however, we had a room on the wing of the motel that was directly facing Route 50 - and it was noisy with cars whizzing by. Be forewarned. We asked to move, but were told that there were no rooms available in the rear wing. If you are a light sleeper - make sure to request a room in the rear side of the motel when you make your reservation.
The owner was very accommodating. Continental breakfast was good. Rooms were a little dated but very clean. Walking distance to the Royal gorge railroad. It's right on the main road and there was significant noise throughout the night and early morning. Rooms: Clean, adequate, dated. Nearby activities: Royal gorge Railway, walking distance.
We arrived early on a weekday and was lucky enough to be able to check-in. We had the opportunity to visit with the owner a few minutes file checking in and she was very nice. The breakfast seemed great to me for a "non-hot" breakfast. I would definitely stay here again given the chance. Out of 8 hotels on our trip I’d pick this one or one other over the rest based on price, wi-fi, breakfast, being clean and free of cleaner smells. Walkability: Within walking distance to park and many local places to eat.
Parkview Inn Motel is a really nice motel with clean, well maintained rooms and a wonderful staff. The same, however, cannot be said about Cañon City where the motel is located. Never in all my travels have I found a more wretched city that Cañon City. It has been completely overrun by lowlifes with deafeningly loud motorcycles, hot rods, pickup trucks, and other vehicles modified to be as loud as physically possible. The ear-splitting noise from all these vehicles was more or less continuous throughout most of the day. It also didn't help that our room was situated right next to Highway 50, giving us a front-row seat to all the noise. I ultimately had to wear both earplugs and a high-dollar headset with active noise cancellation just to be able to sleep. Is Cañon City like this all the time? I don't know, but it was horrible the two days we were there. We were there July 3rd and 4th, so maybe there were more joyriders off work stirring up trouble, but I can't imagine the weekend being any different. I feel the staff went above and beyond trying to help us with the noise problem by moving us to a different room that was further from the highway on our second night. While not perfect, the new room was definitely an improvement, and I was able to get some sleep with just the earplugs trying to sleep in a bulky headset is not fun. They were under no obligation to do this, and I can't say enough good things about them for having done it. I think the motel and staff are exceptional, and I feel very sorry they have to live and work in such a hell hole of a city. If you think another hotel in town would be better, I think you'll be disappointed. Every hotel and motel in town is along highway 50, so you're going to have the same noise problem with all of them. I will never go back to Cañon City, and if you are thinking about a trip out there, I would strongly recommend against it. If you're going to be in the area to see the Royal Gorge or other attractions, at least look for lodging somewhere outside of Cañon City.
Not ADA friendly at all. Steps into the office and steps into all the rooms that I saw. It's a smoke-free facility, but the doors open onto the parking lot where everyone goes to smoke. The pictures of rooms on expedia, where I booked, are not of the room I rented. I think the rooms with black doors are fancier. The bathroom was very claustrophobic. If you have a mobility aid, it may be unusable. The beds are hard. There's a door hanger that I did not put out asking for the room to be made up, so you can imagine my surprise when I got back to find my room made up. I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. I also didn't realize there wasn't a microwave in the room. If you just need to crash somewhere for one night, it's probably fine.
We are bike touring and rolled in here after some really rough weather. Our bikes were covered in mud and grime and we asked them if we could stay, and use their hose to help clean off our bikes. They were so friendly and welcoming! We can't imagine a better place to have stayed after a long, wet, cold day!Rooms: 4/5
Nice quiet motel near Royal Gorge Route Railroad, the Museum of Colorado Prisons, bars, restaurants, and a 20-minute drive to Royal Gorge Bridge. It had a nice breakfast and an amazing staff. Definitely will come back again.Rooms: 5/5
