I highly recommend Patisserie 42 and Joann! First, her cakes are SO DELICIOUS!!! When we tried her samples for our wedding, my fiancé and I thought every option was just fantastic. It was hard to pick just one and ended up having three different flavors/combinations for our wedding cake. I still think about how delectable it tasted and I cannot wait to have it again on our one year anniversary! Second, Joann and her team were wonderful to work with. Despite almost having to go on maternity leave, Joann accepted my wedding and was very kind and courteous in helping me decided on the design for the cake. She was so helpful in explaining the different techniques and what would work well with our wedding size and budget. Third, even though Joann was on maternity leave when I had my wedding congratulations on your bundle of joy!, our wedding cake tasted and looked just as we had hoped. This just speaks to the wonderful talent and team at Patisserie 42. One last note about her cakes; the guests loved it, too!! One guest even called the day after our wedding wanting to know if there were any leftovers and if they could have any! haha! I will definitely be reordering from Patisserie 42 for all our special occasions. : Don't miss out on this awesome bakery! You will love it!!
We hired Romel to make Italian style cookies for our cookie table at our wedding.He also set up other cookies that family friends made. At the end of the day, everything worked out. The cookie table was beautiful and all of our guests were complimenting the desserts he made. However, this was by far the worst vendor we had in regards to communication. In the beginning, we received email responses right away. As soon as we sent our check, it took several weeks to a month for a response. I was never sent an actual contract stating all the details until I had to ask multiple times for one just to make sure he had all the details. I spent a lot of time stressing over this and kept thinking I was getting scammed. However, we trusted Taste Of Excellence for recommending them. On the day of our wedding, he gave us a window of what time he would arrive 12-3. It was getting close to 3:00, and because of our history of not hearing from him, we called. My planner had to call 5 times and leave a voicemail. He showed up at 3:00. Again, it all worked out and was absolutely beautiful but I feel communication when planning a wedding is very important and other brides should be prepared for this should you choose to hire them.
I can’t thank Romel enough for making my Mother-in-law’s stunning 90th birthday cake! My brother-in-law and husband hadn’t thought to order a birthday cake!! It was Wednesday afternoon when I was frantically calling various bakeries to find a gorgeous tiered cake for 50 people on Saturday, May 27th! Romel said he could accommodate our last minute request! It was her favorite, strawberry, custard, buttercream filled 2 tiered cake and it was scrumptious! It truly made her day and made it memorable! Thank you Romel for also delivering it! You were a Godsend!
THE CAKE!!!!! THE CAKE!!!! THE CAKE!!!!! Not only was it simply delicious it was truly a piece of artwork!!!!!!! Just as we tasted it and exactly designed the way we requested!!!! Everyone raved about “the cake”!! Our guests were stealing the cake from people dancing!! I had a gentleman talk to me on Sunday brunch for a half hour just about “the cake”. The pictures do not do it justice!! I’m ordering more cake in a few weeks and having a cake party! Thank you Jo!! Nothing more magnificent!! . Btw our cake was whipped white chocolate cheesecake with a seedless raspberry filling and buttercream yes buttercream, not like you know frosting!!
We used Patisserie 42 for our wedding in the fall of 2019. After getting a few professionally created cakes over the year I stand by our choice of using this bakery for our big day. I wish I remember the gentleman's name who we did all our transactions with... because he also baked our cake and everything was AMAZING! I believe he had 20+ years of experience and it showed. This was also the only bakery we taste tested - there was no reason to try anywhere else. We decided on a 3-tier cake, 2/3 were a custom flavor of chocolate with "grey stuff" moose and 1/3 was a white cake with a lemon and fresh raspberry filling all in a melt-in-your-mouth light italian buttercream. He understood my vision when it came to the decoration and was able to keep to my wish of no fondant. We took a part of my gown and was recreated as a pattern, the attention to detail for such a simple style cake was beautiful. Everyone loved the cake and we heard it from our friends and family. Only amount left was our top tier to take home because people went back for 2nds! Whenever we have another big event that requires a beautiful cake - we will always recommend this place. I wish we could have gotten our 1yr anniversary cake here but unfortunately we now live out of state...
Our daughter lives in Seattle but was getting married at Stan Hywet in Akron, so my wife and I were tasked with finding the perfect wedding cake. We tried three well-known Cleveland area bakers, who ranged from awful to forgettable to barely adequate before we found Joanne at P42. Working with her was a delight. Not only did she make four test cakes so we could sample different cake, filling and frosting combinations, her cakes were just stunningly good. They have a richness combined with a truly unique texture/crumb that just melts in your mouth. Her whipped frosting is so light that it has to be tasted to be believed. We found the perfect combination of two different flavors and fillings for a three tier cake. On the big day, Joanne insisted on placing the flowers herself to make sure everything was perfect, and it was: beautiful and so very delicious, everything a wedding cake should be. Our daughter was delighted, the guests loved it, and we couldn't have asked for more. Joanne is just amazingly talented, and so very easy to work with. If there's anyone better than P42 in this area, we couldn't find them. Five stars plus!
Just ordered all of my wedding desserts and cake from Patisserie 42! They were absolutely amazing in making the whole experience stress free and easy! They even gave me suggestions on how to decorate my cupcakes since I had no idea what I wanted. Highly recommend working with them for your special day!
Had the most amazing wedding shower yesterday. Everyone seriously, ranted raved about the cupcakes. They had to be the best we've had. Joann was so sweet and professional. Came in and took care of everything from delivery to a beautiful set up. I ate 4 cupcakes alone, no clue if I can fit my wedding dress now, but oh well. lol Thank you guys so much. Will be reaching out very soon for a Baby shower and birthday partys here soon.
We had Joann make my daughters wedding cake along with finger pastries! I have never seen such a beautiful classy cake and the taste was out of this world! We had three large tiers each a different flavor. Red velvet with cream cheese filling Yellow and the top tier in dark chocolate. All covered in Italian butter cream frosting . And by the way most bakeries don't even make a true red velvet or Italian butter cream The guests were so impressed not only with the beauty of the cake BUT THE FLAVOR!!! Everyone loved the cake as it was so moist and the frosting was like silk !!!! The finger pastries were excellent and exquisite, not just your grocery store pastry but each one was done with artistic flare and the taste was OUT STANDING!!! I would give 20 stars if I could!!! Joann is so easy going and is very talented! We will be back!!!! Thank you taste of excellence and especially Joann for being our baker!!! I booked with Patisserie 42 for my wedding this month and Joann was extremely helpful. She constantly made sure that she had what my fiancé and I wanted and pricing was just right. The cake was beautiful and tasted incredible, especially the lemon with fresh berries. I highly recommend and would definitely book with them again.
