Great local pool. Check the website for swim times- kids swim, adults only etc. Note- it's closed for 2023 due to repairs.
This pool is a great amenity. It's huge, there are swim lanes, a smaller kids area. The lushious lawn is great to lay on. Love this place. Highly recommended. The rest of this review comes from a decade of experience in pool operating and lifeguarding. The pool is dirty. I went for three days in a row, and the same clump of sand sat at the foot of the ladders. I do not believe the lifeguards are vacuuming the pool daily, as is general protocol. So, there is a lot of debris in the pool. Additionally, I have never seen the lifeguards check the pH or chlorine levels of the pool. It's possible they have an automated system, but I doubt it. I have seen 35-45 swimmers in the pool, one Lifeguard in the stand, three in deck talking to the guard in the stand. Again, no the best practice. The manager of the pool needs to be involved and ensure that the pool is getting cleaned and is properly monitored.
Patterson Park Public swimming pool is a great cooling down experience. It is not dirty or have leaves floating in it as previously stated by another poster. They must have gone during the Fall of the when the pool wld have been closed. There is a kiddie area w/ pool & sprinklers and a larger pool for ages around 10 yrs and up. It will considerably cool you down & is an enjoyable experience for all.
Meant to post this last season but life got a little busy. The pool unfortunately had maggots in it last summer when I went... meaning the chlorine levels were far from adequate. I would hope this has been taken care of but lets just say coming out of a pool and picking off 10+ maggots from my skin was not enjoyable.
Since COVID restrictions, this pool requires reservation online they cap at 75 people per session, four timed sessions a day which is really nice because it keeps the pool from overcrowding. The pool and surrounding areas are well maintained and very clean. There is a kiddie pool with well designed sprinklers which everyone can enjoy.
It is Free and great life guards n they even give box snacks for kids make sure you have an account n you can use it at any Baltimore City public pool.
Almost the entire experience was enjoyable. Took my three children and they all enjoyed themselves. Consider having two adults with different age limits. Unfortunately; and this all falls on me; my daughter is to tall for the little pool and my sons are too small for the big pool. My daughter whose only 8, couldnt be by herself so she had to stay in the small pool which we disappointing. The only bad part was the restroom which were disgusting; no toilet paper, showers were nasty and not working, no private space for changing and very bad lighting; my children were creeped out and didnt want to go back in to change. Right now they are on time limits of 1.5 hours with time for cleaning. It's easy to sign up online and you can schedule more than 1 time slot. Theres a playground in the same area so if you sign up for two time slots back to back, you can spend time having lunch or playing on the playground durning the hour wait period.
Pool is open today July 4th, beauty of a day with cool vibes. Great family oriented stay cool community public pool. Required to register online at Baltimore city park and rec pools before entry, but just simple few steps!
Really love the pool. They may need to have a better system for their summer pool schedule and post for families to see Daily, out front. They do have shade under teess and a few large umbrellas; also they have picnic table seats, lots of grass. Seems fully staffed however the pools edges are always dirty! Bathroom can be cleaner as well! This is how we lower the rate of bacteria!!! Please Clean Constantly. Thank you
They have 2 hour sessions which you pay an affordable $2 for each session. If you want to stay for the next session you have to leave and line up to pay again. They do not allow life vest nor any flotation equipment. They do not allow children past 3.6 feet and smaller children have to stay in the kiddie pool. There are only 2 tables to sit at. Everyone must have on swim clothes swimming or not.
