The owner of this establishment is a bounding incarnation of business and creativity. As a repeat customer she has gone out of her way time and time again to help me with complex costumes and artistic projects when I had only aggressive online marketing to work with. The staff are friendly and the products spark creativity with anything from social events to the aesthetic overhauls everyone craves. Prices are also really good too.
This is a place that has great potential. It's sad to hear they might be closing. They have the standard package costumes. With the movie industry on the island. Nanaimo should have a more professional costume place. Patties does have the potential to become that. People are getting more and more creative and are looking for a place to get that professional look.
I was a first time shopper to Pattie's Party Palace a few weeks ago...and I must say it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon entering, I was cheerfully greeted and later asked if I needed assistance. When they learned it was my first time, they were genuinely delighted and quick to answer any questions I had. Even Pattie herself was out there and made me feel more than welcome. It was very nice, especially when they knew I was not in to spend money, but to explore a store I had never been in before. It isn't often that you are treated like you are a valuable customer, even if you are not there to spend. The store itself was entertaining, and the selection amazing. I would and will happily recommend this store to EVERYONE I know for it isn't often that you get such personal service in today's business world.
I needed 10 helium filled balloons and found the clerk to be very helpful on the phone. She also called me to remind me when we hadn't arrived to pick them up by late afternoon. We weren't going to use the balloons for two days and another store had discouraged me from buying them. I appreciated that they use a high float treatment that keeps them floating longer. They were exactly what I wanted for our doctor's retirement party.
Great selection of party supplies and the owner is very friendly. The staff are a little aggressive with sales but if you firmly insist on looking around on your own eventually you will be given space to do so. Decent prices and a good local business.
Such fantastic and helpful staff! We went in for a pinata and were able to find one and everything else we needed to make our party great, and on sale! Excellent selection. I highly recommend!

Pattie and her staff are always very helpful. Their party favours and their costume selections are wonderful. A great local business in a world filled with big box stores!
The staff is always helpful, friendly, know their stuff in regards to party supplies and decorations, and are always happy to impart stories about the best parties they 've been to.
