$15.00 for a long hair haircut with shampoo and blow dry included? Unheard of. Even the so-called "cheaper" chain salons charge more than that for long hair. Prices are good, but, you have to take into consideration that you will spend 3 times more time here than in a regular hair salon. They always seem to take more time than they quote you so keep that in mind also. You will pay approximately one third the cost at a regular hair salon. I had a great experience here the first time I visited, I had color, cut, and blow dry/style. I was there for 5 hours, but, my hair looked fantastic and the price can't be beat. My first stylist listened to what I wanted I took a picture of what I wanted with me and the supervisor gave precise instructions and double checked my hair thoroughly. My second visit was not so good, the stylist did not know what she was doing and did not know how to blow dry long thick hair. The supervisor also gave her instructions that were the direct opposite of what I wanted. At home the same evening, I noticed that there were several small sections of my hair where the color was not applied at all. I called the next day and they told me to come in and they would do the color over again at no-charge. So I went back the following week and had another stylist who did a good job at correcting the color omissions. I will keep her name for the future. Next time I will only get a hair cut or color in order to not have to spend so much time there.
Got my hair lightened and colored there. It was an all day thing since I have hair close to 3B, but Amna and Veronica were very nice working through all of it with me.
Ada did my hair with Corie as her instructor. Ada did a phenomenal job and was so nice and personable. I asked for volume as my hair gets flat really easily and typically I’ll come home from the salon and within 2 hours my hair is flat. It’s the second day now and my hair still has volume and looks as good as it did right after the salon. Great learning environment at the school and students are encouraged to ask questions. Definitively recommend going to Ada for your hair care needs! Expect a longer visit with any of the students as this is a learning facility.
Update 9/23/22 Daniel fixed my hair and got me to exactly what I was looking for. The learning leaders present were so positive and helpful to correct my hair. Can’t thank them all enough! Update 9/22/22 Went in asking for grey blending via money piece and to bring my blonde up. New colour of toner as well. I’m attaching pics because, well they speak for themselves. Calling tomorrow to get in, instead of a weeks wait. This looks so so much worse in person. Went to Paul Mitchell The School Lombard for the first time today. Had Marissa do my full head of foils and cut/trim. It took pretty much all day, even though I have chin length hair as it was her first time foiling. She did such an amazing job! We got me so light, I had a general idea of what I wanted, and we figured out a lot as we went. Just have to get back for one more session to achieve my blonde goal. And then obviously for maintenance etc. But the support of her colleagues Lynn!!! And teachers is what will keep me coming back. No one was rushing, or annoyed etc. It's a school people!!! Let them learn how to do hair!!! Know what you're getting into before booking an appointment, be upfront about past hair-capades, and enjoy the time out of the house! And for the price, you can not complain at all, they're extremely upfront before they even start. I love my hair again!!!!!!
Great pricing, however you get what you pay for. My student stylist was kind, I scheduled a simple wash amd blow dry. Now the strange part is that she washed my hair, but didn't wash, rub, cleanse my scalp?! How ?! Is that an extra add on, if so I would have gladly paid for it.
I've been coming to this location since shortly after they opened their doors, so maybe like 12 or 13 years. Today that has come to a stop when I got a call from Tessa informing me that they are banning me from coming there and getting my hair cut. As you can assume this caught me off guard so I asked why and was told that apparently someone complained about me that I made an inappropriate comment that made them feel uncomfortable. I asked what it was that I am being accused of saying and she wouldn't tell me other than she only has her students best interest in mind. I said that I can appreciate that she takes their best interest in mind, however I have never had an issue before and with my loyalty to the location and been coming there so long should hold some weight. I asked what kind of investigation she did because it seems you are coming to me guilty before innocent and she just repeated herself again. I wasn't asking for any names, just what I was accused of and never got that. Seems anyone can say anything and they just run with it. Very disappointing in the outcome and that I still have no idea what exactly I'm accused of. I have always been professional in there and have never had an issue other than a few bad cuts here and there. Something is changing with this school as they have lost some great learning leaders and the place isn't as busy as it used to be either. Things like this to loyal clients isn't going to help either. I will never recommend or suggest people to come here anymore and will suggest to go elsewhere. The end of my conversation was heated as my frustration level increased for not being given an answer as to why and to that I'll admit I could have been better, but super disappointed in this and the school.
What my daughter experienced at Paul Mitchell school in Lombard Illinois was horrible from my daughter experience and also some of the ladies who have came out before her stated they were very racist and show favoritism to students of non black descent it was also brought to my attention when my daughter graduated a learning leader who was also fired, because she would not treat certain students poorly. This one particular learning leader stated that the other administrators had told her that my daughter was a bad student, and would not graduate she also stated that they wanted her to make things hard, for my daughter, I would not recommend Lombard school to any black women who are who are trying to get their cosmetology license
I went in today for a color, treatment, cut and style. The color is nowhere near what I asked and explained I wanted in the first place. I asked for more of a platinum color with gray-black roots & I ended up with brown roots, golden dirty blonde middle and more gray-ish platinum roots. The student also ended up slowing the process of lifting my hair by spraying me with some water or something in my hair and just rinsed me out not long after one of the instructors told her it would be a slower process now. The student was very nice but the result is awful and not at all what I wanted and I spent $90 on this entire service, I now will have to go somewhere else to get it redone because she took me back darker than what I had started with. Never again will I come to this school for anything other than a treatment. Attached is what I wanted versus what I actually got.
I haven’t been there yet but have been calling forever to get an appointment since august but they’re always booked. They say if there’ll put you in waitlist but it’s never ever available.
They did so bad they left me with orange Damaged hair. I asked for a retouch in my highlights and the girl bleached basically my whole head and killed most of it. The instructor wasn’t there she only checked like once a hour. I came before and had an amazing job done with my hair. They gave me highlights and dyed my hair because I went to this place that did my hair very bad and I hated it. Now I feel like I’m at step one again. I’m never coming again.
