Pawtucket Post Office

Description

The Pawtucket Post Office is an historic government building at 56 High Street in the historic central business district of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The building's design was supervised by William Martin Aiken and James Knox Taylor, supervising architects of the United States Treasury Department during the building's construction in 1895-97. It is Beaux Arts in style, with a domed tower at the corner which originally housed its main entrance. The entranceway, now closed off, is framed by granite Doric columns supporting an entablature, on top of which sit two stone eagles. The street-facing facades radiate away from this entrance, with five round-arch window bays separated by pilasters, with pedimented secondary entrances at the far end.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The building housed the post office until 1941, and then municipal offices. It is now part of the Pawtucket public library.

Great customer service & made me smile today with their reindeer decoration & tree!!!
Submitted a COA, all my mail is being returned back to sender rather than the PO BOX I opened at this office
This is a very old building. While it does have a handicap ramp for wheelchair users the doors are not automatic. I stopped to assist an elderly woman who was having difficulty holding the door open so she could exit while using a walker. It's usually busy enough that your chances of getting help from other patrons are good but it would be nice to have better accommodation for disabled folks.
This is the third time I’ve gotten a notice about a package not being delivered because there is no recipient to receive the package. Meanwhile, I never heard a ring at the doorbell or a knock at my door. As a result I have to try to find a way to get my package from the Pawtucket building when I work 8-5.
Usps better than ever. Will go the mile to help you.
Every once in a while I will come to this post office because its closest to where I reside. I'm quickly reminded why I dont come here. It takes them about 10-15 min per customer. Its painful to watch. I was third in line and waited 24 min to get waited on. We're not splitting atoms here folks...good lord. I'll spend the extra time driving to the Downtown to office. Never anyone in line and the reps that have Trainee on their name tag get uou out of the post in a quarter of the time...
The teller was so polite and helpful. Was given 2 options on something and when I said it really didn't matter because the price difference really wasn't that much she opted to give me the lower price which I greatly appreciated that you find in so many places they would have gave you or charged you the higher price but she did not take advantage like that this is a very good post office very clean and I've never had a problem in there
Horrible customer service, It’s like they don’t care about their customers waiting. Most of the time with a long line, they have an employee name John that be on his phone while attending you, very disrespectful specially when dealing with customers personal information. Also, a lady name Liz, would be talking loud with her fellow employee and had stopped what she’s doing to talk while there is people waiting in line.
These people working here have been losing and returning every other mail parcel and package of mine consistently. The address is always the same and depending on the day, sometimes we get our mail, other times I have to spend hours on hold waiting to figure out why my mail has been sent back. Oh and the best part, This is not a new address, I’ve been living here for years now.
Saw they were delivering mail in this Storm. Never been here but I think any company that's not a first responder or emergency personnel should make their employees go out on this weather. My town didn't have mail delivery today.
