Literally - the worst service ever. Over the course of time here we've had, I believe, 14 different account specialists. Good luck EVER reaching them, and apparently only they can help. I had to go to the regional manager once because we couldn't get any responses. We used this payroll processing company for three of our companies and EVERY single quarter payroll reports were incorrectly reported to the state. EVERY QUARTER. One company never had W2s mailed - for years. We requested an audit of an account to make sure that owners wages were not incorrectly taxed and reported and had to wait TWO years for any sort of response. Several state agencies threatened to audit our companies due to inaccurate reporting. RUN AWAY!! Sincerely. We have switched and it is night and day. The issues were caught immediately, reporting has been addressed, our 401k withholdings are accurate, our employees with garnishments are now accurate. My only regret is that we waited since the summer of 2020 to make this change. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!
I was previously employed with a company why used paychex and it was years ago and had issues. Now i work for a new company who decided to use them aswell, except i cant clock in or out or get my paystubs because they want my old password from years ago and cant get any information on how to undo it they said contact them online so i did. And they asked for extremely important information such as my social and then once i gave it to them they stopped replying. I do not recommend this company at all!!!
Worked for a small company that relied too heavily on Paychex for service, Paychex charged for everything! The 401k was the same, I had another 401 k that charged adequately for service…not extensively, tried to transfer my 401k, took 3 months! No answers back from all communications, could see it online, but just would not answer back! Finally was able to get things taken care of, and they will only send out a check…by snail mail. This was a large amount of money! No bank transfers there. Had to post the check myself, the other company I have a 401k with could believe it! So beware! Weigh options! Not good!
Terrible beyond belief. The people don't care about your payroll, they don't care if they make mistakes, the managers wont call you back. I would rather pay a little more and get better service. Avoid at all costs
Of all the business service businesses I dealt with, Paychex was the worst. From the deceptive sales pitch, to the quality of their payroll service, to the absolutely abysmal customer service, switching to Paychex was the single worst decision I made as a business owner. Costs were higher than promised, calls and emails to remedy problems went unanswered, and mysterious charges appeared months after selling the business. Avoid like a disease.
Service keeps getting worst. every time I contact my account rep, I am told “you can do it yourself” or “it’s not my department.” Why have a designated rep? They hire the laziest people.
Multiple mistakes done when running payroll. Payroll had been ran twice for the same pay period and for amounts we did not request. When contacting our payroll specialist, all we get is no phone calls back, no response to our emails. Others in her team tried to help but the payroll specialist just ignored us. We are ready to cancel their services. Even to cancel services is a nightmare, nobody responds to our emails neither call us back after multiple voice messages left. They do not provide documents needed to switch services!
Absolutely terrible payroll service. They continued to draw payroll after canceling an account multiple times, it took 4 months to rectify the situation. Acfount managers do not return communications, either by email or phone. Paychex will also not provide W-2 documents even after jumping through all of their hoops and paying additional hidden fees to release documents. Do not work with this company.
Horrible customer service when problems occur. - Our company payroll has been delayed 3 times in the past 2 months due to shipping issues with a Paychex vendor. Each time we were told by Paychex that we need to call the shipper directly to solve the problem ourselves. This is the third time our staff have not received their pay on time, so this is a repeated, known problem with big consequences. We are not the ones choosing or scheduling the delivery, that is something Paychex is being paid to handle. Over the 3 occurrences we have spoken to at least 5 different Paychex employees, and although each were apologetic, none made any calls or took any action other than looking at the tracking number. That is astounding, and not even close to the level of customer service given to our clients. Maybe it's because we are a small company? The liability involved as well as being ethically responsible towards our 15 employees is too huge to continue working with Paychex.
Want your payroll to have mistakes several times a year and for everything to be way harder than it should be? If so, Paychex is your answer! EDIT in REPLY to Paychex reply to me: WAY too little too late. I'm not even a client anymore, I'm just still dealing with past issues that were not cleaned up properly when I left you at the end of last year. Not going to waste my time contacting you directly, but wanted to take a few minutes to post this here in case it helps anyone I know.
