I had a minor surgery at PeaceHealth United General today, and it was a really great experience. I’m used to larger hospitals like Harborview and Swedish in Seattle, and was a bit hesitant at having surgery at a smaller hospital. I was wrong to feel that way, as it was such a breeze! Everyone there was so warm and kind, and took my health and safety very seriously. The nurses were a super attentive and sweet. Dr. Tan was my surgeon, and was excellent. The anesthesiologist knew I was a wimp when it came to being put under, and was really reassuring. I didn’t even experience post surgery nausea, which I’ve experienced every other time I’ve had surgery. I am thrilled to have discovered this hospital, and wouldn’t hesitate going back should I need any additional care.
Recently a family member was admitted to this location through the emergency room, they were admitted and stayed for 2 nights. A very emotional and stressful time for the family. Mel & Teresa took amazing care of our family member, and the family, they were very honest straight forward, and compassionate. Thank you from our family!
This was my first serious emergency experience at a hospital. I had 4 fractures in my back and all I can complain about was the pain. The care I got was what I needed and everyone was great. I honestly can't think of anything that could've been better. All the staff were there to help and very quick to answer my calls while I spent 2 nights there.
There is no infection control here! Whoever is a part of the team, is doing a terrible job. I went there with a relative for an appointment and I did not see healthcare staff do hand hygiene, and I even caught healthcare staff with face mask only covering the mouth and not wearing it right. The staff is rude and treated us with disrespect too. Personally, I would not come here nor recommend this place to anyone.
Don’t show up a minute late for your appointment…. They’ll refuse to see you, even when you have an urgent referral and have already waited 3+ weeks for your appointment which you had to call 3 different times for, since they don’t seem to care about those waiting to be seen. I showed up 15 minutes before the time I was told over the phone, but when I arrived, they had me scheduled for 30 mins before the original time. Sketchy. Now I get to wait 2 more weeks to been seen at a facility that has no compassion or desire to help those who need it, especially if it doesn’t benefit them. Hopefully I don’t die in the mean time. I asked for an administrator’s contact information and all I got was some generic hotline. I’d like to suggest you take a more understanding and personable approach, but who am I kidding. All you care about is the money rolling in and human beings are second if even to that.
Walked in for an obstruction in my eye. They didn't have anyone that could provide care and couldn't find an optometrist. I had to find an optometrist myself after they told me I no one was open. They ordered multiple covid tests in order to wend me to an optometrist in the area before checking if any were available. I got billed 1600$ for them to do absolutely nothing.
Always understaffed and slow. The Dr's are generally uninterested and grumpy. I've been to the E.R. several times and I've always been treated poorly. They seem to think that every person is addicted and a drug seeker looking for opiates. Go to MV and be treated like an actual patient... **EDIT** I think the sheer number of 1 star reviews and similar complaints about the facility are telling. It's not single isolated incidents, or staff just having a bad day. It's a chronic and consistent situation that is NOT being addressed or remedied. My opinion won't change.
I would imagine I’ve been to UGH well over 50 times. Besides my own visits, for years my father was chronically ill with a ‘mystery illness’ . He went to Seattle to see docs at UW to try to figure out what was going on. Even had docs perplexed at Mass Gen. He was so sick, he visited UGH ER at least twice a month, sometimes much more. About 9 yrs ago, the ER doc was the one to diagnose him! When he had an aneurysm 6 yrs ago, the staff was beyond incredible. The docs and nurses cried with us.They had the Chaplain there waiting for us.and they frantically worked to get him a ride to Harborview. They can stitch a face up better than my dermatologist. . Great place to pass kidney stones. >>handy tip>>if you are really sick, and know you will need immediate attention, call 911 for a ride.
I can't say enough nice things about the employees! I needed to go to the ER, which no one wants to do and they made me feel comfortable that I was in great hands, Doctors explained my situation and options completely.
Came in with my kiddo who was having a migraine. Couldn't keep their medicine down, and in significant pain. The intake team was kind and caring. They promptly processed the information and got us back to triage right away. Triage was quick and efficient. We were back in a room shortly after. Dr. Russell was amazing! My kid didn't want an IV. Dr. Russell calmly and patiently explained the best option for treatment was: 1. IV, 2. shot, or 3. sublingual medication for nausea. Doc asked what the barrier to getting an IV was. When needlephobia was brought up, he asked if anxiety medication could be given nasally, would it be possible to try an IV? He reiterated what would be the quickest route to relief, but was compassionate and respectful of my kids fear. Not once did he try to force anything. He talked directly to my kid to let them know he respected their choice and he wouldn't force anything. I asked the doc if it was possible to start oxygen because that worked for my migraines in the past? He started it...the doctor. Immediately. He could have fobbed it off and had us wait for the nurse, but he connected the cannula to the oxygen, then the cannula to kiddo right then and there. The anxiety medication was given an the IV was in thank you Nurse Nathan!. My experience in the past has been: sit down, shut up, do what I think is best. It was worse as a youth as the doctor would defer to whatever my parent requested without listening to me. That didn't happen here. Thank you United General, Dr. Russell, and Nurse Nathan. Truly a wonderful, kind, caring, and empathetic crew.
