Students wishing to attend the program must audition in the spring of their 8th grade year. Students audition for their major, the art that will be the focus of their studies at Pebblebrook. Once accepted, students may also choose a minor, to be studied in addition. The program offers rigorous training in dance, drama, technical theatre, and vocal arts. The Orchestra and Band programs are also part of the Fine Arts Department at Pebblebrook, though they are not part of CCCEPA and students cannot audition for them. The program is housed in the Betty A. Gray Enrichment Center and the Earl Reece Jr. Performing Arts Theatre. The magnet program status gives the administration more freedom from the Pebblebrook administration team, while the students are still fully qualified pupils at Pebblebrook High School. The CCCEPA was a realized dream of the late Linda Green, Chorus Director during the 1980s era.
